Scout's Honor Rescue, Inc. Scout’s Honor Rescue is a 501c3 whose focus is rescuing dogs of all breeds, sizes, conditions in TX. Visit us at www.scoutshonor.org. Volunteer based.

Scout's Honor rescues animals from city pounds, including animals from various animal shelters in the Houston and surrounding areas. Scout's Honor also takes in animals living on the streets. We do not limit our program to healthy animals or particular breeds, and we often save animals from abusive situations. ving, permanent homes so that they can receive the love and attention they sorely deserve. Since our formation, Scout's Honor has rescued over 900 animals and currently has over 80 dogs and cats in our program! Scout's Honor's rescue program is "foster based"; that is, each of the animals we rescue is placed in a temporary foster home, where it receives much-needed love, care, and structure while it waits for its permanent home. We could not exist without our wonderful foster parents. Unfortunately, Scout's Honor is unable to take in each animal about which we are contacted. We simply do not have enough money, fosters, or other necessary resources to help all the stray and neglected animals in the Houston area (and, believe us, there are an overwhelming number of needy animals in Houston!). Our ability to take in a dog or cat depends on our current funding, our volunteers, and whether we have an available foster home. Many times we are forced to close our intake when we run low on any of these. We never wish to turn away an animal in need, but sometimes we do not have the luxury to choose. We have the most amazing dogs and cats in our program! Indeed, we are almost a "one-stop-shop" for any type of dog you might want. Life with Lily ❤️

It seems like the entire state of Texas rallied to save Lily and her siblings, our 4 labs that lost their home and human in a house fire are forever safe. This amazing rescue community never fails and we are so thankful for you.

Lily and her siblings were in bad shape but still have hearts full of love. Our oldest gal Lily is in, what we think, a hospice foster due to a lifetime of neglect. She is scared of just about everything but slowly coming out of her shell. And her sweet personality is starting to come through and we are HERE for it!

We will share more on her story but what we really need is a foster (or forever) home for her siblings, Rex, Lucy and Rose. We love our boarding partners but it’s painfully obvious this crew has never had a real home and we’d love to give that to them!

🐾💚🍪Krum (AKA “Cookie Crumb”) is a sweetheart found dodging traffic on the east side of town. He’s about 1 to 2 years old, with big paws and an even bigger heart. While he’s still learning the finer details of doggie etiquette, he knows how to sit and is very receptive when told “good boy.” His hobbies are wagging his tail and enjoying his chewies. The vet gave him a clean bill of health (heartworm negative), and he’s caught up on all of his shots. He thrives with love and attention, enjoys sunning himself on the patio, and is known to give your hand a lick or two. He’s great with people, good with other dogs, and is a general delight to be around. Could he be your new best friend?

How in the world is this handsome dude still looking for a home. We would even love a foster home to help him get ready for his forever home.

Hamilton was found abandoned in a parking lot with his brother and regardless of how humans failed him, he is ready with a smile on his face and tons of love to give! Help us find his forever home! Introducing Sasha! Sasha was found wandering in the street and a couple was able to lure her into their yard with the help of their friendly dog and a bowl of kibble. Based on Nextdoor posts, she had likely been outside overnight after being abandoned, and was very scared and hungry. Naturally a little skittish and jumpy those first few days, Sasha soon realized she was safe in her foster home and settled in, and is now learning new skills like sleeping in a crate and sitting for treats. She loves treats! Playing in the snow with her foster brother, an 8 year old lab mix, was so much fun!!

Sasha is a healthy, 48lb shepherd / Malanois mix and is about 11-12 months old. She’s smart, playful, affectionate and eager to please. She loves to go for walks with her family and play zoomies in the backyard.

She likes other dogs and people, but needs a little time to warm up and meet you at her own speed. Once you’ve earned her trust, she is incredibly loyal and affectionate. She would do best with someone who can provide her lots of physical exercise and engagement. She’d make a great running, hiking or biking buddy.

Her foster parents call her Sasha Bean because she’s the color of an espresso bean and brightens everyone’s day with her sweet face and energy!

Ok guys!!! Major help needed to turn this rotten world good for this crew!
You remember our labs that survived the house fire. Well these babies clearly have had it rough since before then. We have been working to get them healthy and found out this week, that that might not be an option.

Our sweet Lilly has multiple, unrelated, cancers. Our girl most likely does not have much time left which is absolutely devastating as we have seen such progress in her in just these few weeks. Our amazing boarding place, Paws Pet Resort, has given her the best weeks of her life. But let’s hurry and get her in a home so that she knows what a REAL home full of love is. She is not in pain or having complications. So the only extra in care is showering this girl in love and spoils and all good things.

Rose and Lucy were both spayed this week and that part went well, but mammary tumors were found in both. So that is a 50/50 as to whether or not those will be benign or cancerous. And sadly we have to wait for spays to heal to move forward as we cannot even aspirate as if it is cancer doing anything right now can aggravate it and cause it to aggressively spread. So we are hoping that we can get these girls in a home asap so that they can get as much love as possible before any more bad news hits. These two would LOVE to stay together if we can swing it. Lucy is very dependent on Rose and we’ll definitely heal faster with her family close by.

Rex appears to be our healthiest one of the crew! No cancer or possible cancers found- YAY!!!! He is incredibly sweet and is learning to play fetch. Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?.

Scouts Honor will continue to cover the medical expenses of these babies while in foster. But we really want them to all get to know what the life of a Scout’s Honor Rescue dog is. You guys are the best and that is what these babies deserve!

Alexander is SUCH a handsome & happy boy and he’s been with us so long without interest. Alexander loves playing with other dogs and would be a great addition to any home with the right introductions! He’s highly trainable and would really benefit from a routine. 👀Looking for their foster or forever homes! Lily, Lucy, Rex, and Rose are settled into boarding and doing amazing thanks to Paws Pet Resort but we would LOVE to get these older pups into foster or forever homes to live out their “senior” years. They can go in pairs or separately and Scouts Honor Rescue covers ALL expenses associated with fostering — all you need to do is provide the love for these beautiful dogs who have been through SO much in their lives! Another incredible SHR Alum update!! Our girl Paloma brought home her next fly ball title today! We are so thankful for her amazing adopters for introducing her to this sport - she is a natural! We absolutely love seeing her thrive and just look how proud she looks 🥹🩷 rescue dogs are truly the best!!

❤️🐾🩷Sweet Ziggy boy heard his favorite holiday is coming up - Valentine’s Day!! Can you be Ziggy’s Valentine and give him a foster or forever home? Ziggy is the sweetest young boy who absolutely loves hugs and cuddles. Seriously- he likes to give you a hug before going outside. He’s very eager to please and treat motivated. We would love to get him out of boarding and into a foster home where he can continue to learn and thrive! Ziggy’s story is a tough one. He was seen being thrown out of a moving truck. Sweet Duke reporting in from his incredible foster home! Duke is thriving in his foster home where he already knows how to sit, stay, shake, wait patiently for his food until instructed, and run the last few feet off leash and wait at the door of his house. We are so lucky he landed an amazing foster, but what about giving this senior boy a forever home?? He gets along great with other dogs and is just all around the perfect house guest. WOW!!! You all never cease to amaze us!! Without a plan or a dime donated, we had a litter of puppies and 4 labs saved from a fire come into our program with just the hope that YOU would save them and you did! We have met the most amazing people that donated and our mailbox is always full with amazing things like this!

*sniff* *sniff* You looking for a new friend??? Meet our sweet, quirky little dobe mix, Madeline! This little girl clearly had a rough beginning. She came to us with very little fur, a nasty skin infection and of course heartworm positive. With some amazing vet care and a whole lotta love, her fur is coming back in, the infection is gone and she is READY for her forever home! Madeline is an easy addition to any home and loves everyone she meets! How she is still in boarding, we will never know but we know the perfect home is out there for her!!! Frank came to us abandoned in a back yard like trash when his owners moved away and DESPITE that, look at that smile he has for his new humans!!!
