Scout's Honor Rescue, Inc. Scout’s Honor Rescue is a 501c3 whose focus is rescuing dogs of all breeds, sizes, conditions in TX. Visit us at www.scoutshonor.org. Volunteer based.

Scout's Honor rescues animals from city pounds, including animals from various animal shelters in the Houston and surrounding areas. Scout's Honor also takes in animals living on the streets. We do not limit our program to healthy animals or particular breeds, and we often save animals from abusive situations. ving, permanent homes so that they can receive the love and attention they sorely deserve. Since our formation, Scout's Honor has rescued over 900 animals and currently has over 80 dogs and cats in our program! Scout's Honor's rescue program is "foster based"; that is, each of the animals we rescue is placed in a temporary foster home, where it receives much-needed love, care, and structure while it waits for its permanent home. We could not exist without our wonderful foster parents. Unfortunately, Scout's Honor is unable to take in each animal about which we are contacted. We simply do not have enough money, fosters, or other necessary resources to help all the stray and neglected animals in the Houston area (and, believe us, there are an overwhelming number of needy animals in Houston!). Our ability to take in a dog or cat depends on our current funding, our volunteers, and whether we have an available foster home. Many times we are forced to close our intake when we run low on any of these. We never wish to turn away an animal in need, but sometimes we do not have the luxury to choose. We have the most amazing dogs and cats in our program! Indeed, we are almost a "one-stop-shop" for any type of dog you might want. Lily, Rose, Rex, and Lucy are doing amazing thanks to our dedicated boarding partners .htx 💚🐾 thank you so much for your dedication and care to our dogs! These babies have been through the unimaginable — losing the only home they knew in a fire. They are so resilient and their personalities are really starting to come out. A few days ago, we couldn’t even get Lucy out of her kennel she was so scared to death. Now everyone has wagging tails out in the yard 🥹 we are so thankful for everyone who has donated to their medical care, as they do have a long way to go. Once we get them through their initial vetting, they will be ready to go into foster or forever homes. Donations for their vetting and boarding can be made the following ways. Today was definitely bath day for some of our puppy crew as this trio of boys stay busy! They are romping, playing, chewing, hiding (and pooping like puppies do!

We’ve got one round of puppy shots done and getting their 2nd round so they can be ready for their forever homes when they find them!

How about a little bit of puppy wiggle to start your day? Craig is one of our surprise puppies that joined us in December and is really starting to let his personality shine through! Craig is your average guy just strolling along and finding every little lost thing in every nook and cranny. He is a bit of a beagle mix and will be petite like his momma (barely 30 lbs) and would love to bounce around your home and find your lost things! DESPERATE HELP NEEDED!!!

A horrific house fire caused Lily, Rose, Lex and Lucy to lose their home and their owners!!! We cannot let their lives end like this and they are in the immediate euth list. We are taking a leap of faith to tag them and we cannot do this. We need fosters and sponsors and even transport! We cannot let a fire that they worked so hard to survive end their lives. Please help!!

Introducing Sasha! Sasha was found wandering in the street and a couple was able to lure her into their yard with the help of their friendly dog and a bowl of kibble. Based on Nextdoor posts, she had likely been outside overnight after being abandoned, and was very scared and hungry. Naturally a little skittish and jumpy those first few days, Sasha soon realized she was safe in her foster home and settled in, and is now learning new skills like sleeping in a crate and sitting for treats. She loves treats! Playing in the snow with her foster brother, an 8 year old lab mix, was so much fun!!

Sasha is a healthy, 48lb shepherd / Malanois mix and is about 11-12 months old. She’s smart, playful, affectionate and eager to please. She loves to go for walks with her family and play zoomies in the backyard.

She likes other dogs and people, but needs a little time to warm up and meet you at her own speed. Once you’ve earned her trust, she is incredibly loyal and affectionate. She would do best with someone who can provide her lots of physical exercise and engagement. She’d make a great running, hiking or biking buddy.

Nick and Ritchie are wondering why they haven’t gotten any applications!! Bailey’s puppies are getting sooo cute and their personalities are really shining through. Nick is so playful and seems like he would love to be part of a family with other dogs. Ritchie is such a sleepy little guy! He loves his siblings but also would be just fine just cuddling up with humans without other dogs. The puppies are just a few weeks away from being ready to go into foster-to-adopt homes!! 💙🐾Introducing our newest little guy- Zima!! He’s in search of a forever or a foster home, but most urgently a temporary foster for this Wednesday - Sunday night, can you help him out? On a freezing winter night, just before the snowstorm hit, Zima’s tiny frame was spotted trembling beneath a car. Alone, cold, and desperate for warmth, this little pup’s future looked bleak. But Zima’s story didn’t end in heartbreak—it was just the beginning of a journey to find a family who will cherish him forever.

At only 8–10 weeks old, Zima has already shown resilience and bravery beyond his years. His most striking feature? A captivating pale blue eye that tells a story of hope and longing. When he looks at you with his mismatched eyes, it’s as if he’s asking, “Will you love me?”

Zima is as sweet as they come. He adores people, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and lights up the room with his gentle, playful spirit. Despite his rough start, his heart is full of love to give.

His name, Zima, has a special meaning—it’s the Czech word for “winter.” Named by a kind Czech family who first spotted him, Zima’s name is a tribute to his resilience and the snowy night he was saved.

HELP LADYBIRD!!!

We are desperately in search of a foster for this sweet girl - even if it’s just for a week or two. Ladybird is the PERFECT house guest and loves laying on a comfy bed. She is determined and already walking without support!

We posted a few weeks ago about poor Ladybird suffering from arthritis, but unfortunately things took a turn for the worst this week and she needed emergency ACL surgery. This girl has really been through it. Thankfully this surgery is pretty standard, but the recovery and re-learning how to walk is tough to do in boarding. She had an amazing short term foster to get her through the weekend and the storm but today is her LAST day at her temp foster and it’s the FIRST day she’s picked up a toy! Please consider fostering her or share with your friends to find her a short-term foster.

Ladybird is a survivor and because of that, she does need to be the only dog, but she loves every human she meets.

Introducing the BEAUTIFUL Dolly (Parton)! A Good Samaritan found this sweet girl hanging around the house that they had never seen her before. She was super skittish and they spent the next few days gaining her trust and giving her some food. After talking with some neighbors, they found out she had been seen on various cameras in the area for the past YEAR living on her own in the woods and scavenging.

She has completely transformed into a loving and super appreciative house guest. She’s estimated to be about 7-8 years old and getting up to a healthy weight, probably will be around 45-50lbs once fully healthy. She is heartworm positive, but this is not anything to be concerned with! With monthly preventatives, we are certain she will be HW- in no time. She is in overall in great health considering her age and history.

She’s been amazing with her foster family of kids and two other dogs. She’s definitely cautions as she’s learning to trust again, but has not once been defensive.
