Until mid-October, Amelia had only known the harsh streets of Houston - enduring the unthinkable. Having a litter of puppies who didn’t survive, hiding from the heat of Houston in a wooded area behind an apartment complex, only surviving on daily food and water from a generous neighbor. On October 11th, Amelia was rescued from the streets and became a Scouts Honor pup. Since then, she’s been spayed and had the opportunity to recover in a temporary foster home where she’s learned so much. She’s learned that humans can be kind. She’s learning how to walk on a leash with a gentle leader. She’s learned how to sit and wait for her food. She’s learned how to sleep through the night in her crate. She’s learned how to play with other dogs and cuddle on the couch (she’s a super cuddler!).She’s learned how fun it can be to play with toys. Amelia has been through the unthinkable like so many other dogs in Houston, but her story is just beginning. She has so much more to learn, and wants nothing more than to do that in a loving foster or forever home. Unfortunately, her time with her temporary foster has ended and she’s headed to boarding until a family can open their home to her. Can you be the next chapter in Amelia’s story?
