Scout's Honor Rescue, Inc.

Scout's Honor Rescue, Inc. Scout’s Honor Rescue is a 501c3 whose focus is rescuing dogs of all breeds, sizes, conditions in TX. Visit us at www.scoutshonor.org. Volunteer based.

Scout's Honor rescues animals from city pounds, including animals from various animal shelters in the Houston and surrounding areas. Scout's Honor also takes in animals living on the streets. We do not limit our program to healthy animals or particular breeds, and we often save animals from abusive situations. Scout's Honor provides these beautiful creatures with a second chance to be placed in lo

ving, permanent homes so that they can receive the love and attention they sorely deserve. Since our formation, Scout's Honor has rescued over 900 animals and currently has over 80 dogs and cats in our program! Scout's Honor's rescue program is "foster based"; that is, each of the animals we rescue is placed in a temporary foster home, where it receives much-needed love, care, and structure while it waits for its permanent home. We could not exist without our wonderful foster parents. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent or in learning more about fostering for Scout's Honor, please click on our "Fostering" link and read more! Unfortunately, Scout's Honor is unable to take in each animal about which we are contacted. We simply do not have enough money, fosters, or other necessary resources to help all the stray and neglected animals in the Houston area (and, believe us, there are an overwhelming number of needy animals in Houston!). Our ability to take in a dog or cat depends on our current funding, our volunteers, and whether we have an available foster home. Many times we are forced to close our intake when we run low on any of these. We never wish to turn away an animal in need, but sometimes we do not have the luxury to choose. If you wish to help us better our ability to help a needy animal, visit our website, www.scoutshonor.org and click on our "Volunteering," "Fostering," and "Donate" pages and see how you can get involved! We have the most amazing dogs and cats in our program! Indeed, we are almost a "one-stop-shop" for any type of dog you might want. At any one time, we have all different types of breeds and mixed breeds—from small to large. And do not forget about our kitties! We have them from short haired to long haired (and any length of hair in between). Visit www.scoutshonor.org and click on our "Available Pets" link to browse through all of the animals in our program. You can find out more about our adoption policies and download an adoption application at our "Adoption Info" link. Please browse our wonderful dogs and cats and consider adopting one today! Thank you for considering adopting a rescued animal and for taking the time to view our page and website to see how you can get involved in helping Houston's homeless animals. They need you.

Until mid-October, Amelia had only known the harsh streets of Houston - enduring the unthinkable. Having a litter of puppies who didn’t survive, hiding from the heat of Houston in a wooded area behind an apartment complex, only surviving on daily food and water from a generous neighbor. On October 11th, Amelia was rescued from the streets and became a Scouts Honor pup. Since then, she’s been spayed and had the opportunity to recover in a temporary foster home where she’s learned so much. She’s learned that humans can be kind. She’s learning how to walk on a leash with a gentle leader. She’s learned how to sit and wait for her food. She’s learned how to sleep through the night in her crate. She’s learned how to play with other dogs and cuddle on the couch (she’s a super cuddler!).She’s learned how fun it can be to play with toys. Amelia has been through the unthinkable like so many other dogs in Houston, but her story is just beginning. She has so much more to learn, and wants nothing more than to do that in a loving foster or forever home. Unfortunately, her time with her temporary foster has ended and she’s headed to boarding until a family can open their home to her. Can you be the next chapter in Amelia’s story?

Scouts Honor Rescue is fully foster-based and covers all expenses associated with fostering. Head to our website scoutshonor.org to learn more or apply to foster this sweet girl today 💚

URGENT FOSTER NEEDED IMMEDIATELY! This is a critical plea to save Rex’s life. He was adopted as a puppy, only to be taken away after a heartbreaking cruelty case two years later. Rex is terrified, confused, and in desperate need of a safe, loving foster home right now—no time to waste! He’s incredibly sweet, good with other dogs, and just wants to escape the shelter and danger. Please, we beg you with all our hearts to step up and foster Rex TODAY. We will provide everything you need—just help us get him out of harm’s way before it’s too late. This is an emergency—Rex’s life depends on it!

It is really sad news to share that our sweet Willie boy is coming back to us after a few years 😢💔. Through absolutely no fault of his own, his family no longer wants him 💔. Willie is absolutely perfect and has only given love and trust wherever he’s been 🥺❤️. He’s about 6 years old and loves being a couch potato 🛋️🐶. Sometimes he gets the zoomies and likes to jump up on you, but that’s easy to train if needed 🐕💨. He’s amazing with other dogs and kids 🐾👧👦. We absolutely do not want him going back to boarding from a home, so we are in desperate need of a foster or another forever home for him 🏡🙏. Willie is truly a great boy who doesn’t deserve this, and it’s heartbreaking to receive this news 💔😞. Please consider helping Willie!! 💕🐶

Gracie and us are truly begging you to consider fostering or adopting her 🥺💖. This sweet girl is a senior, whose owner passed away and she was left to survive on pool water for a whole month before help arrived 💔🐾. Gracie came in with her brother Sweet Pea, who’s now adopted by one of our board members because he wasn’t doing well in boarding 🐶❤️. Now it’s Gracie’s turn. She’s the sweetest girl—loves walks, hanging out, and being social with everyone and every dog she meets 🐕🌟. It breaks our hearts that she hasn’t found her forever home yet 💔. Gracie really needs out of boarding, a loving home, and constant care 🏡💞. Please consider opening your heart and home to Gracie, whether it’s fostering, adopting, or fostering to adopt 🙏💕. If you foster, we’ll provide everything you need to care for her—we cover all costs, all we ask is love and a safe place 🥰🐾. She’s begging for a chance to be loved and safe again 💕🐶.

Mr. Noodles is STILL looking for his forever home! 🐾🎄 How is this even possible?! We seriously don’t understand why this sweet boy hasn’t been adopted yet. 💔 Noodles was dumped at an overpass near the bayou with his siblings Amber & Cricket 😢🌿. He was so confused when we found him, not knowing his whole world had been turned upside down. But now, Noodles is loving life and is one confident boy! 😍✨ He’s such a sweetheart who loves everyone and all his doggie friends 🐶💞. Mr. Noodles absolutely loves walks 🚶‍♂️, cuddles 🤗, and snoozing right next to his humans 💤❤️. Plus, he’s potty trained! 🏡🎉 This perfect boy is hoping to find his forever match this holiday season! Could it be YOU? 🎅🎁🐕 Please head to our website to fill out an application for Noodles if you are interested! You can comment below when you do to ensure we check it out asap!

Alexander and Hamilton are absolutely loving their forever life! 🐾💕 When we got an application saying they’d take both, we were over the moon! 🌟 We love keeping siblings together whenever we can, and these boys are so lucky to have that. It is with the heaviest of hearts 💔 that we say goodbye to our dear Gonzo, lovingly known as Victory. Since he came to us in 2017, he filled our lives & his family’s with joy and love 🐾❤️, a truly special boy who found his forever home so quickly. His spirit was bright and full of warmth ☀️, and he was cherished deeply by a wonderful family who gave him a beautiful life. Now, Gonzo has gently crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈, his angel wings 👼 carrying him to a peaceful place. We will hold you forever in our hearts 💖, sweet boy. You will be missed beyond words. 😢✨
