Scout's Honor rescues animals from city pounds, including animals from various animal shelters in the Houston and surrounding areas. Scout's Honor also takes in animals living on the streets. We do not limit our program to healthy animals or particular breeds, and we often save animals from abusive situations. ving, permanent homes so that they can receive the love and attention they sorely deserve. Since our formation, Scout's Honor has rescued over 900 animals and currently has over 80 dogs and cats in our program! Scout's Honor's rescue program is "foster based"; that is, each of the animals we rescue is placed in a temporary foster home, where it receives much-needed love, care, and structure while it waits for its permanent home. We could not exist without our wonderful foster parents. Unfortunately, Scout's Honor is unable to take in each animal about which we are contacted. We simply do not have enough money, fosters, or other necessary resources to help all the stray and neglected animals in the Houston area (and, believe us, there are an overwhelming number of needy animals in Houston!). Our ability to take in a dog or cat depends on our current funding, our volunteers, and whether we have an available foster home. Many times we are forced to close our intake when we run low on any of these. We never wish to turn away an animal in need, but sometimes we do not have the luxury to choose. We have the most amazing dogs and cats in our program! Indeed, we are almost a "one-stop-shop" for any type of dog you might want. 👋👋 hi friends! My name is Boudreaux. I’ve been in boarding for sooo long and would just love a family of my own for the holidays! I was found at a park with my sister who got adopted a few months ago, but unfortunately I haven’t been so lucky 😔 I’m such a good boy and love playtime with other dogs! Introducing Bailey’s puppies!!! Bailey is being the best momma to her six little babies - all boys! They’re not even 2 weeks old yet, and they are cute as can be. Their names are Voss, Nick, Craig, Ritchie, Hunter, and our little runt, McIntyre. 🐶🐾 we’re so excited to watch them grow and see their little personalities come alive. Soon they will be up on our website for foster and adoption applications, and they can go home around 12 weeks, so stay tuned!! Look at this cutie!!! This cute patoot is super smart as she locked into the right human out on a walk in the Heights. She was not going to be left behind. Fortunately, the Good Samaritan had a heart and took Ella in.

She is about 10 weeks, 8 pounds of adorable mix breed girlie! She has had first rounds of vaccines and we will make sure she continues on the right vetting path.

PUPPY UPDATE!!
While not big enough to join us for adoptions on Saturday, Bailey’s pups are thriving!!! Even our little runt in the second pic that always wants to cuddle a sibling!! As we get to know the puppies, we will start sharing their little personalities so we can find the perfect fit!

SHR Fam!

Meet the foxiest little giraffe there ever was, KIT! In Japanese folklore, kitsune are supernatural foxes with a variety of abilities and Kit earned his name!

Imagine having a home and one day you find yourself dumped on a new area and no idea what’s happening. Scared an alone, Kit was not quick to trust. Thankfully, amazingly patient Good Samaritan’s would not give up on him and finally got him to safety and now we need to find a TRUE forever home for this little cutie!!!

Kit is a petite little mix, maybe 2-3 years old, good with dogs AND cats and super playful! Despite what’s happened to him in his short little life, he’s ready to LOVE!
