Laika, Kitten Cam Mama Laika and her kittens were fostered by John Bartlett for Purrfect Pals, until they were ready to be adopted out to forever homes on April 20, 2013.

This page is for sharing updates with Laika's fans. Laika now goes by Mimi and lives in Seattle with her new mom and big brother Norbert, who was adopted from Homeward Pet Adoption Center (HPAC) in August 2012.

Good Thursday morning from me and Mimi (and Norbert on the other side of the bed). I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow, so today is my Friday (and I'm getting up in a minute).

Mimi and Norbert are looking forward to early Caturday. I think. Everyday is Caturday for cats, so it's tricky to tell. ☺️

Sorry I missed posting on Caturday! Today is a very nice and sunny fall day here in Seattle, and Mimi is making the most of Monday (Norbert too, but when I tried to take a closeup of him in his sun spot, he tried to eat my hand.😉)

On this day six years ago, I finally made the decision to adopt Norbert from Homeward Pet Adoption Center. I had spent some time with him in one of the visitation rooms during my shift as a volunteer that afternoon, and made up my mind on the bus home. That evening I emailed my volunteer coordinator and said "If Norbert is still available when you close tonight, I want to adopt him." Three days later, I brought him home. ❤
