California continues to be at risk from unpredictable wildfires. Unfortunately, wildfires are now year-round. One of California's worst wildfires was in November - the Camp Fire of 2018. Don’t let your family be caught off guard. Have a 5-minute plan to avoid being trapped in the event of an evacuation - whether it's a wildfire or other disaster.

Visit https://firefightersonyourside.org/ for more safety tips. And remember, have a plan to evacuate and care for your animals. For pet preparedness information, visit https://ccadt.org/be-prepared/

Today is NATIONAL FIRST RESPONDERS DAY that honors the brave individuals who are first on the scene in emergencies. This includes firefighters, police officers, paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and other professionals who risk their lives to protect and save others during disasters, accidents, and critical incidents.

This day is dedicated to recognizing the hard work, dedication, and sacrifices made by these responders, acknowledging the physical and emotional challenges they face on the job. It also raises awareness about the importance of supporting these individuals, both in terms of mental health resources and access to the best equipment and training.

Thank you to the first responders that CCADT collaborates with to help the pets arrive safely!

Happy Birthday to our one year volunteer Rose of Fresno County!

Rose joined CCADT to help animals and their owners during natural disasters - doing her part for the community.

She had that opportunity on her first deployment to the recent June Complex Lightning Fire in Fresno County, taking care of animals in our small Emergency Animal Shelter.

When not volunteering with CCADT, she has been a valuable employee at Kaiser Permanente for over 20 years and is a music minister at St Therese Catholic church in Fresno.

Rose also loves to practice hot yoga and spend time with family and friends. She is a fur momma of a beautiful Tortoiseshell cat, Chanel Bell.

Rose, wishing you the a purrfect day and celebration.

Thank you for all you do. Welcome to CCADT!

Happy Birthday to our newest volunteer Katie of Fresno County, who joined CCADT after completing our Annual Recruitment and Orientation Training!

Katie heard about CCADT and registered to continue to help people and animals, as she is an active TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) for cats, and foster kittens as well.

Until her first deployment, Katie is a Mom of 4, loves any outdoor activity, including hiking, camping and kayaking. She also love plants and succulents, and grows a garden some years.

Wishing you a purrific day and celebration.

Thank you for all you do and making a difference! Welcome to CCADT!

Happy Birthday to Ed from Mariposa County, a volunteer of two years! Inspired by a print media article, Ed joined CCADT with a passion for helping animals, and his commitment has made an impact.

Shortly after his training, Ed deployed to the Oak Fire in July 2022, which burned 19,233 acres, and to the Fork Fire in Oakhurst in September 2022. That fall, he also educated the public at our CCADT information booth during the Oakhurst National Night Out. Most recently, Ed cared for displaced animals at the French Fire, which started on July 4th and took training on Shelterly, and educated the public at the Mariposa Safe Families Emergency Preparedness Event.

Ed, thank you for your dedication to making a difference in our communities. May your special day be a wonderful celebration reflecting your compassionate heart.
