Great info from our friend Norfleet Marketing & Photography on using professional images from horse shows.

Hey y'all!

I receive questions all the time in regards to what can and cannot be done with the images we take. Let's break it down!

🔹 Watermarked images on our website 🔹

This one should be simple to understand- If the image says on it that screenshotting is prohibited, then screenshotting is prohibited. Even if you're "planning to purchase them later" or you've "already purchased and are just waiting for them to arrive" or "are just using it to advertise a *horse, jacket, saddle, pad, etc* for sale"... it's still theft. If you're caught stealing images, we will remove all images taken of you from our website and a fine must be paid to regain access. Support your show photographers.

🔹 Social Media Released Images 🔹

If the image says "Norfleet Web Image" on it, it's good to go for social media. You can post it on Facebook or Instagram, put it on your trainer's website, or use it in Facebook groups to advertise a horse, saddle, pad, or jacket for sale. However, you do not receive a print release for this image and it cannot be edited in any way, shape, or form. This includes use in advertisements, even if that advertisement is only going to be used on Facebook.

🔹 Candid Images from shows 🔹

At shows, my team takes a TON of candid images and gives them to show management and publications. If you see a candid image of you or your horse, absolutely feel free to share- candids have the same rules as social media released images. They may not be used in ads and cannot be printed. We also always appreciate a tag when using free candids on social media!

🔹 Ad Released Images 🔹

Ad released images are sent to your designer and may be used for any print or digital ads. I do not charge for images I take in ads I design.

🔹 Personal Print Released Images 🔹

Personal print released images may be printed as many times as you want, wherever you want, up to 8x10. They may not be used in print or digital ads.

🔹 Full Released Images 🔹

Fully Released Images may be used however you'd like, with the exception of commercially. Basically, you can print these wherever and however you want, use them in ads, and use them on social media, but you cannot sell the image to a company for their own advertising or enter it in a contest where the company would be allowed to then use the image in advertising.

🔹 Session Photos 🔹

All sessions come with fully released images. While I appreciate credit on social media, it is not required.

Have questions? Feel free to ask. We're always happy to clear up any confusion.

Congratulations The Tennessee Tack Shack on your new venture 🎉 Thank you for hiring us to create your brand identity!

Emily came to us with a homemade logo and a dream. Saturday we hunkered down together and made that dream a reality.

The first step is sitting with the client and figuring out what they are drawn to. We'll develop a color scheme and fonts and then everything grows off of a few simple ideas.

After we had her new logo designed, it was off to the races! Social media art and website design flowed after. In 5 hours we created her compete brand and WordPress site.

I showed Emily how easy it was to update the site with the web designer I installed and now she can add new items as they come in instead of asking a web designer to do it.

Creating a new business has never been easier! Do you have a logo and a dream? Let us help you get started!

Working on Sales Paddock's new WordPress site and it got me to thinking...how many of you have a very slow site 🙋‍♀️ Sales Paddock was, that's why I'm revamping it. It could be a very heavy theme or unused plugins. Set up a free consultation if you want help with WordPress or any other tech question. If I can't help you, I'll pass you along to one of the many resources I have met over the years. I always love to help!

As a marketing professional, I use social media for business purposes. This means I’ve logged a lot of hours on all platforms over the years. I’ve seen what works, what doesn’t, what is a waste of time and money, and poor practices. Here is a list of my social media pet peeves and misguided ta...

Falling can teach you to fly!

Lifetime horse girl, long time business owner, short term tech mogul. I have ridden my entire life and like a lot of lifers, turned that into a business. I was a barn owner, teacher, trainer and horse show fanatic. Then I had 2 little cuties and all my priorities changed. In 2015 I sold the farm to be a stay-at-home mom. It was great for a little bit, but this work-a-holic got bored really quickly.

I had this idea when I was training and showing, wouldn’t it be cool if there was an app to buy and sell horses at horse shows? With all my new free time, I decided to create it. So...I googled, “how to build an app” and this is where my journey begins. I won’t bore you with everything in between, but let’s just say there were many highs and many lows.

So that brings me to 2020 and all my falling and flying knowledge I want to bring to the horse industry. I have learned so much about tech and digital strategy, I want to bring that to all small equine business owners. I now work full time as the Director of Sales & Marketing for a medium size business helping them fly instead of fall. I want to do that for you too.

No matter how large or small your idea is, I can help you get started on your dream. That is the key you know...taking that first step. And whether you fall or fly, at least you are trying, that is a lot more than a lot of people can say. So take that first step and shoot me a message, I love to chat all things social media, tech and digital strategy. The first consultation is free, what are you waiting for? If anything, a chat will fuel you and I’m sure you’ll gain a few tips along the way :)
