Due to the shortage of veterinarians in California, a new bill has been approved that will allow pet owners to use telehealth for veterinary services. This bill will go into effect on January of next year, 2024.
However, a number of veterinarians are troubled that this bill will lead to animals not receiving the proper care they need.

Assembly Bill 1399, which goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2024, will allow pet owners to virtually visit the veterinarian. The decision comes as the nation experiences a shortage of licensed veterinarians.
