Very honored to be asked to create these fly whisks. These are in memory of a recently deceased horse, using some of his tail hair.

Thank you to the client for trusting me with these. I’m so happy with how they turned out!

Saddle Sense: Saddle and bridle fitting with both horse and rider in mind.

I am a truly independent fitter and not affiliated with any brands or sponsors. I will assess, adjust, and repair your current equipment, make suggestions for potential improvement, but will never push to sell you something you don’t have or need. My goal is for the horse to be as comfortable as possible by ensuring that their tack is well-fitting, informing the rider of every step along the way.

Finished this project recently. This harness was too large and the client wanted the top rings removed. I shortened both ends, moved the billets up, and used the D-rings from the ends to replace the large rings near the middle. Happy with how this turned out!

It’s been a while!

Here’s a saddle refresh that was done recently. This saddle had a range of issues, from broken billet stitching 🫣 to cosmetic stitching 🪡 and missing d-rings.

I’m available for tack repair jobs! Contact info is in my bio on Instagram and Facebook.

Another bridle back in working order! The connection to the cheek piece completely tore off. I spliced on a new piece of leather and, for the most part, was able to hide the repair behind the browband and stopper. Very happy with how this turned out!

Happy to get this bitless bridle back in service. The side rings on the noseband were tearing through the padded leather. I stitched on more durable leather so this bridle should last a lot longer.

This client asked for a belt to be added to their chaps for adjustability. We didn’t have to preserve the name but I’m glad that we were able to keep that part intact. Very happy with how this turned out!

Didn’t get before pictures, but just imagine that this zipper closure and snap were missing 😅. I replaced the leather piece + snap on these half chaps, both with machine stitch and hand stitching.

This was a fun repair! The elastic on both of these boots was worn and broken. I replaced with coordinating elastic and they look good as new! The client also requested an adjustment to the width of the calf. I was able to accomplish this and the client is very happy!

Repaired this noseband earlier this year. The machine stitching broke so I reattached the side piece with hand stitching (also reinforced the other side, not pictured). Hand stitching will be much more durable for this noseband!

Hi! My name is Josh, and I’m a student at the North American Saddlery School for saddle fitting and repair/benchwork. My interest in saddle fitting developed from watching others and learning the importance of proper saddle fit for both horse and rider. I’ve been sewing for many years and have been learning leatherwork and doing repairs on my own for some time prior, which I’d like to offer to those who can use it! My wife Sam ( ) and I have owned horses for 10+ years and we currently have an 8 year old Andalusian named Chégo. I want to help others find the best fit for their horse and make sense of proper saddle fit!
