⭐️⭐️ Meet Axel ⭐️⭐️

Me and my friends at Forever Friends Animal Rescue have teamed up and have done a dog swap with Mia the staffy and Axel.
Mia unfortunately wasn’t accepting having another dog in the house and Axel has been in care since March without success of adoption.

Once temperament check has been done he will be available for adoption!

Wilma unfortunately ended up in the pound with her friend in Coonamble after their owner became homeless. She has been in foster care with a friend and is ready now to find her retirement family to give her as much love as her previous owner 🥰

Wilma is a smoochy gentle girl who has plenty of pep in her step.
Great in the car, great in the house, gentle with her food and treats, loves a cuddle, loves company,
Has not been a barker.
Sleeps on her bed on the floor and settles well for the night.
Friendly with other dogs but quite independent. People company would be her first choice. Untested with cats.
House trained and dog door/flap pro.
Walks nicely on lead.

We currently have 97 dogs available for adoption, with hundreds more in care.

This week alone so far, Starting Over Dog Rescue has been asked to take another 73 dogs! All of our active carers are more than full.

We have dogs in care that came as young puppies and are growing up in care for months with no applications. Without adoptions, that space with a carer remains filled, and other dogs needing help die.

⭐️ 10/10 cuddles
⭐️ very loyal
⭐️ good recall
⭐️ is not food aggressive
⭐️ crating training
⭐️ fantastic on a lead

Negatives
✋ is jumpy when excited
✋ destructive when bored - easily fixed with daily exercise and mental stimulation
✋ can be full on around other dogs as he wants to play all day long

Exciting news!

Little Lenny (Danny) has now officially been adopted after completing a 3 week trial period. His beautiful Mum and Dad have adopted Lenny knowing all his health issues he has been going through and have accepted him into their family 🥰

3 beautiful 8 month old male German Shepherd pups have found themselves in the pound in need of new homes. I have been told all are friendly and social.

This is the harsh reality of what is happening in Aussie pounds right now.

•Dogs giving birth in the pound
•Pregnant animals in pounds
•Bitches and their litters being surrendered to the pound
•Young puppies in the pound at risk of euthanasia
•Older litters surrendered because they couldn’t sell them

Majority of these issues can be helped with DESEXING your pet!

If you are a breeder I please encourage breeding pedigree dogs that are cleared by a vet and registered with appropriate platforms.
Yes even pedigree dogs and designer dogs end up in pounds, there is no discrimination.

You would have heard this many times, please please don’t support back yard breeders. 100% ensure you will find your new family member waiting in a cage at the pound 💔

✅ Very dog social (Does hump A LOT particularly when excited, hopefully will settle after desexed)
✅ Non reactive to cats
✅ Crate training with no problems
✅ No signs of food aggression
Seems to be house trained, but has marked a couple times

Rusty arrived after a long drive down from
Coonamble NSW yesterday after being found wondering around the local shops by himself. The lovely transport company saved him from being euthanised due to overcrowding.

In the short time Rusty has been in care he has shown zero signs of aggression towards people or dogs. He cleared his vet check and is booked to be castrated next week.
He is fantastic on the lead when going for a walk, but it is a marathon to put his harness on as he gets very excited!
Being a little guy he will need secure fencing and would benefit from a family to welcome him inside for a cuddle at night. A home with another dog for a playmate would be great but it isn’t essential. He hasn’t shown signs of anxiety but it is still early days.
The car is a little scary for Rusty, he would benefit from short positive care trips to help gain his confidence.

Danny is to be reviewed in another month before being cleared by his vet to find his forever family. But his friend Heidi is waiting so patiently for a family to come along.
