Want your business to be the top-listed Pet Store/pet Service?
K9 Coach
My love of animals started early, and has grown throughout my life. I enjoyed my Animal Sciences classes at Washington State University, but I discovered my true passion while working as a dog trainer for a pet store while pursuing schooling for my nursing degree. I loved working with dogs so much that I decided to make it into my full time career. I worked for several years as a Dog Trainer and Dog Training Mentor at PetCo, while raising dogs for Guide Dogs for the Blind in Mount Vernon. After moving to the city, I worked as the primary dog trainer for Downtown Dog Lounge, a large full-service dog care business in Seattle. After several years at Downtown Dog Lounge I decided to go my own way and started my own dog training and care business K9 Coach.
My training philosophy centers around improving communication between dogs and their people, and building understanding, trust and good behavior through positive rewards. I practice “force-free” training and believe that your dog should never be scared or in pain while training. I believe in the science of dog training, and am always continuing my education through seminars and ongoing classes.
I get great satisfaction from providing excellent, loving and compassionate care to my clients dogs, whether in a training lesson, or if they are boarding or adventuring with me. My special joy is in working with trail manners and training, and taking boarding and daycare dogs out on adventures in the beautiful outdoors of the PNW. I’m currently located on lovely Bainbridge Island, and working on building a small scale training and boarding facility on the Olympic Peninsula.
