Remembering about this time...gosh, 17 or is it 18 years ago? Anyway, Jess and I were in the whelping box with Calli, Kim and I think Karen were sitting on the couch, Chuck was passing out candy to the trick-or-treaters and at that moment, Madeline was born. In the process, her umbilical cord burst, spraying blood all over me, Jess, and the wall. It looked like a Halloween massacre. A couple of hours later, we had six absolutely gorgeous puppies and a mama who had no idea what had happened. She wanted to hide under the house. Eventually, she figured out she was a mama dog with a job. Madeline, Ukko, Taiga, Tioga, Fred, and Hawkeye grew up to be beautiful, amazing dogs with equally amazing families. Now, Calli's great-grandbaby (Madeline's grandbaby) is curled next to me on the couch. Sweet dogs, Good people, sweet memories.
