Stop Animal Slavery Support the freedom of animals. Let's shame and campaign against companies that abuse and imprison an The list goes on.

It's hard to believe that today the imprisonment and abuse of animals for commercial gain is still so prevalent and accepted globally. Polar bears that would otherwise be roaming a 250,000 square mile landscape in a cold climate are sweltering and going demented in tiny zoo enclosures. Killer whales are denied the freedom of family life in the ocean, instead confined to tanks in theme parks where

they are denied food when underperforming tricks. Bears are chained at the neck from an early age to train them to walk upright on their hind legs in preparation for circus life. Primates are chained in enclosures in putrid conditions where zoo patrons hurl food at them for their own amusement. Let's shame these companies that abuse our wonderful wildlife, boycott them, and fight for the freedom and an end to slavery for our beautiful animal kingdom.

I share this post as I mark my own 52yo birthday this week, I realise that Lo**ta has been in captivity my entire life, living in a cage that she cannot even vertically invert. It's so tragic, breaks my heart

Fauna bridges are increasingly being used to maintain essential connections between patches of habitat for our wildlife and often the Department of Transport (TMR) is responsible since roads and rails cut these vital passageways. The alternative is our wildlife, including koalas, running the gauntlet of traffic to find a mate, some food or escape a predator and the results are not pretty. Gecko has written to TMR requesting that they bring forward the plans for fauna only bridges across the Gold Coast Highway at Burleigh National Park and Currumbin Conservation Reserves. Whether or not Light Rail stage 4 ever eventuates south of Burleigh Heads, our koalas need these bridges now, not in 6 or 8 years’ time. A recent Council report stated that in 2019 -2020 29 koalas were killed or injured crossing the Gold Coast Highway between the Burleigh Heads National Park and the Burleigh Ridge Conservation Reserve.

*** You can help by emailing Minister Bailey [email protected] and Minister for the Environment Meaghan Scanlon [email protected] asking for these fauna only bridges to be built now. ***

For $10, tourists can pose with this tiger at Phuket Zoo, in Thailand. Examples of souvenir photos are displayed here on a poster board. The tiger is held by a short chain and can’t stand up. Tigers may be declawed, or even drugged, to protect people around them.

Please do not support captive wildlife tourism.

Captive wild animal encounters are hugely popular, thanks partly to social media. But our investigation shows many creatures lead dismal lives.

Kasatka has sadly been euthanised after her long suffering existence and 10 year fight against a bacterial infection. She is the third orca to die at SeaWorld this year. Why do people pay to see such cruelty? Please never visit SeaWorld until this cruelty stops.

An Orca Whale at SeaWorld has died after a long struggle to overcome a bacterial infection The theme park made the decision to euthanize the mother of four six weeks after it was rumoured that she was on the brink of death. "Despite their best efforts, her health and appetite significantly declined…

SeaWorld will have blood on its hands once again very soon. So sad.

SeaWorld will have blood on its hands once again very soon. So sad.

New picture of Kasatka rotting to death in an overcrowded, chlorinated swimming pool at Sea World San Diego. This poor soul is undoubtably in a lot of pain.

She "looks like" or appears to be in the final stages of AIDS. And no doubt when she finally does die under their so-called "world-class care" at SeaWorld, they will claim pneumonia, or bacterial septicemia killed her - just as they call every other death there.

Not one of their Killer Whales has ever died of old age. They all die because .

In case you missed it; here is the informative and poignant blog by Voice of the Orcas - former SW trainers, Dr. Jeffrey Ventre and Samantha Berg, both featured in Blackfish: http://voiceoftheorcas.blogspot.com/2017/07/kasatkas-impending-death-has-seaworld.html?m=1

Follow them on Twitter.

(*EDIT Note: She does not have AIDS! Kasatka has been fighting a fugal infection for many years and it has become worse over the past few months. SeaWorld has been asked many times by PhD Marine Biologists, to share her bloodwork and make public the disease or infection she has. But they will not, which is no surprise, because they never tell the truth about what's really going on there. Posted this edit due to a large amount of what turned out to be supporters of cruelty, zoos and captive facilities (who were commenting endlessly) and arguing about the comment. The same thing has been said by other medical doctors, saying it appears, or looks like the end stages of AIDS. It was a reference to what her skin looks like. None of us mean any harm in that comment. Many apologies for that and any confusion.)
