Did you know???? More pets go missing on and around the 4th of July than any other time of the year. Here are some tips to help keep your furry friend safe:
1. Talk to your Veterinarian EARLY if you have concerns about your dog having excessive anxiety with noise
2. Make sure your dog is wearing a collar with updated identification: Contact name, number, rabies tag, microchip, etc...
3. Create a safe place in the home for your pet: a kennel or small room
4. Educate family and friends, especially children, of checking to ensure gates and doors remain close, and leaving your dog safe in his/her special place

Over the last 2 years many of you have been to our Ft. Thomas office and had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Gersch. We regret to inform you that Dr. Gersch will be leaving Veterinary Medical Centers. Today will be her last day full-time with us, but she will continue to work when we need additional doctor coverage. We are committed to seeing that your fur baby’s transition to Dr. Baker and Dr. Metka’s care is seamless and satisfactory.
While we are excited for her and the next step in her career, we will miss her and the professionalism she brings to our team. So it is with mixed emotions we are now saying goodbye. Please join us in wishing Dr. Gersch the best!
Happy Weekend Eve! Everyone that answered our question "What is a group of cats called?" The answer is ........A clowder!! So interesting! Make sure to follow along with our Making you Wiser Wednesdays to learn more cool trivia!

This fawn was laying in the grass behind Dr. Baker's back yard gate this morning. Here it is walking across Hartweg Ave. to meet its mother and rest in the woods behind the Ft. Thomas clinic parking lot.
Remember, if you see a young fawn laying somewhere, leave it alone! They're fine. Usually the mother is off eating somewhere and will return to get the fawn later. However if people (or dogs) are around, or if you handle the fawn and it smells like humans, the mother might not come back out of fear.
We'll look forward to seeing this little guy grow up around the clinic over the next few years.
