1- If your are thinking of getting a dog, consider adopting from shelters which are full of rescued, stray & abandoned Dogs in need for care & loving homes

I, Marlene Messarra, Lebanese living in Beirut, have recently joined BETA (Beirut for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) as a volunteer after they helped me rescuing 2 stray dogs ("Assir & Assira" a lovely couple) from Bechara El Khoury’s ar

ea in Beirut. The dogs were hit by a car and the male, Assir, needed an operation and unfortunately he had to have his front leg amputated :(
Both dogs moved living safely in BETA’s shelter in Monte Verde among 400 abandoned and stray dogs of all types, ages, and sizes from pure breeds as well as mixed breeds, awaiting to be adopted by kind persons and to find new loving homes in Lebanon or anywhere in this world. I am visiting the shelter 3 to 4 times per week to spend as much possible time with the 2 dogs I contributed in saving from the high risk of living in the street as well as with most of the other shelter’s dogs by walking, playing, feeding and giving them as much affection as i can. Shelters should be a temporary home for the dogs awaiting their forever homes. Every dog needs our assistance to become more adoptable or to stay adoptable until he/she finds a safe and caring home.
