Im so impressed with the Woodland Stallion Station and how they collect stallions using a phantom and mare urine. No mare in sight, no drama, very quiet and calm. Edgar did it all with the lead rope in one hand and the collection sleeve in the other! Amazing.

Bezarifs three year old c**t, Bez Lite Year, (Bezarif x Jumeira) is just a couple weeks under saddle now and looking fantastic! I have a full sibling due in Feb/Mar 2023 and can’t wait. All of his babies are smart, kind, and powerful.

Words cannot express how thrilled I am at Tasers accomplishments this past weekend at the Red Rock Rumble 100. We came in 3rd with tons left in the turbo gas tank. The following day he honored me with a Best Condition award. This guy was foaled at my ranch, raised by me, started by Mark Shuerman, and trained by me. I have been blessed to have Kathi Theile in my life, whom is the reason I have so many amazingly bred horses, and especially this stallion! I have to admit I have put him in the back burner for many years with work and riding other “older” athletes, mistakenly thinking I had so much time to get back to Taser. This year I made the commitment to put Taser first and promote him the way he deserves. As my husband pointed out, Taser wants to perform best for me and gives me all he has! His first baby also won the 50 mile ride.

I had the best ride on Taser at the Tevis, though we only made it to Foresthill this time. We unfortunately stumbled on a hidden boulder in the Bogs covered by overgrowth- we were in good company as the three people behind me met the same fate and were eventually pulled as well. I will say the re-route around the bogs planned for the future will be a plus! Taser was strong metabolically and felt amazing. He was showing soreness at Robinson but we were cleared. The vet checks in between he looked great but by Foresthill it caught up to him. He had a little swelling on his fetlock from the rock which helped substatiate my suspicions as to the cause. Now he’s looking great and sound in his pasture so I ask myself “Virginia City 100?” He is one of the smoothest, forward, sweet and well behaved horses I’ve had the privilege to ride down the trail. If you see us at a ride or on the trail stop by to say hi and give this special guy a hug!

Cache Creek Endurance ride was Bezarif’s first ride of the year (breeding at my vets ranch and finding a new farrier delayed us)….ride plan was to finish somewhere around the middle of the pack… My friend Alli was his Jockey that day as I was riding one of our other horses…he finished in 19th place with all A’s. Great start to his season. Deciding whether he’ll ride Tevis 100 or Virginia City 100. Thank you to my hubby Andy Mayo for conditioning him, Jeremy Reynolds for his great farrier work, and Alli Prizlow for being a great jockey and taking care of him.

1998 Darley Horse of the Year

It was as if the power of the girls had reached a new high when Dixie Darlene was born in 1994, as the Darley Horse of the Year had now crowned females for three consecutive years. A daughter of the great Wiking and out of the ZT Ali Baba daughter, BW Ali Catt, Dixie Darlene would take the racetrack by storm in her three-year career of 40(17-10-4)8-9 and $281,689 in LTE.

It is rare for a superstar to produce equal – or even nearly equal – quality. But that's what Dixies Darlene did in the breeding shed following her astounding track career. She quickly produced three champions: Dixies Delight, Dixies Valentine, and Ms Dixie, each respectively Darley Champions in their division and champion producers themselves. She also produced Grilla, a stallion who was impressive overseas before being brought back to America for his stallion career. In his first USA crop, he produced Dance With Me BW, who was named 2018 Darley Champion 3-Year-Old Filly and tore up the track once again in 2019.

Dixie Darlene is truly in a league of her own - Darley Horse of the Year, AJC Hall of Fame member, and dam to both Darley winners and Darley producers.

Having an amazing time with Hillorie in Houston at the HH Sheikh Zayed Cup triple jewel series, watching the Arabian races from the Abu Dhabi suite. Getting to meet the American owners and trainers and fellow endurance people. Really a treat.
