Herschel is safe and I have a great potential home for him, but he has to be neutered AND he can't go there for three weeks afterwards because there are girl piggies there and they aren't allowed to make baby piggies. So! I need a vet in the area to neuter AND a place for him to go for 3 weeks. Any ideas?

While Herschel is now safe, we are still searching for the perfect piggy home for him. We are in middle Ga, so I am HOPING I can find somewhere close by. I have an offer in TN, FL, and N Ga. I am sooo thankful that people are interested! However, you-know-who has to GET him to his new home...
So the closer, the better! And Madison would LOVE for him to be close enough for a couple of visits. Please tag anyone you know that might be interested in the middle Ga area and SHARE! thanks!

Herschel sends his love, Babe!!!

Babe is a large White breed pig that was won as a prize at a county fair! The family was delighted to bring home their adorable piglet, but over the next few weeks noticed she was growing very fast. They did some research on the breed of pig they had acquired, and when they narrowed down the possible breeds and all of them had an adult weight of 500 plus pounds, they were shocked and devastated. Living in an urban neighborhood with a small yard, there was no way they could keep Babe. Tearfully they brought her to Noah's Ark where she was raised indoors until she was just too large, and was then introduced to the rest of the pigs that call the sanctuary home. Despite her massive size, Babe is a gentle pig and spends at least an hour every evening crafting the perfect bed for that night by gathering hay and shaping the nest with her snout. Right now you can be assured that Babe has finalized her perfect bed and is snuggling in for the night. We hope you all are warm and cozy at home and safe from this winter weather.

Hello everyone! We are soooo close to goal! I have held off the sell of Herschel, which is Wednesday, February 12, but we are, at a minimum $50 short. Ideally $150 is needed to cover getting him neutered. Please keep sharing!!! And thanks so much! I am told that Madison went to school today smiling. She knows that we are pulling for her and Herschel! :)

EMERGENCY!!! Herschel is in danger! The ex-husband, who bought him, is holding firm on selling Herschel to slaughter! I have told Madison's mom that we are working to raise money for his freedom, but I thought we had more time! They sell TOMORROW (Tuesday, Feb 2)!!! Meet Herschel the show pig! Herschel is a good ol' boy in Georgia and just like all Georgia boys, he loves getting muddy, layin in the sun, and GOOD FOOD!! Herschel's mama is a 13 year old middle school girl, Madison, that bought him at an auction to show in her school's 4-H pig competition. This little girl, that has never really had a pet, has fallen In love with her Herschel. But just like most of the pigs in the show world, Herschel's glory will be short-lived. Unless $250 can be raised (and possibly an extra $100 to get him neutered) and a good, pig-friendly home can be found, Herschel will be sold to a slaughter house in March 2014. And a little girl will be crushed.
