Shooting Star's Story
We have some wonderful news to report! Shooting Star, who has been in our program for an RMSR record seven years, has finally found her forever home! She was adopted July 9, and we couldn’t be happier for her.
Shooting Star came to us with her littermates in September 2009. She and her brothers and sisters were found sealed in a cardboard box in a scorching hot Arizona parking lot and through the help of some good people there found their way to us at RMSR. All of them had horrific eye infections, and Shooting Star had to worst of it – she had to have both eyes removed, but she didn’t let that slow her down or dampen her spirit. She could get around just as well as a sighted cat and was a sweet girl who loved to be fussed over and groomed. We knew she was a wonderful kitty, but also knew she’d be hard to place – as she came out of kittenhood, it was apparent that she felt very uneasy around other cats or animals and when you combine that with being blind – well, we knew it would take a special person to see how wonderful she was and take her home!
We have lots of pictures and video for you to look at, and some of it isn’t pretty but her story has a happy ending. We lost two of her littermates, they were all so sick and even with excellent veterinary care couldn’t be saved. Shooting Star has the red collar in most of the pictures and video. You may hear her referred to Elizabeth in some of the early videos as that was the name used prior to arriving in rescue just so they could identify the kittens. Here’s a link to more of her story if you would like to know more: http://co.siameserescue.org/CO0355.html
