GUIDE-01 (Updated on 14Feb2024)
—————-
HOW TO POST AND HOW TO SHARE YOUR POST IMMEDIATELY AS A VISITOR:
(Note: Please change the “Most Relevant” comments setting below to “All Comments” so you can see the steps and the screen capture images!)
————-
Step 01:
————-
Go to the Lost and Found Pets Page
————-
Step 02:
————-
Scroll down or slide up until you see the row of Section Buttons starting with a “Posts” Button on the left end of the row of Buttons. (See the screen-capture images in the comments)
————-
Step 03:
————-
If the “Mentions” Button is already showing on the right end of the row of buttons you can click on it, if it is not showing then the last Button on the right end of the row of Section Buttons should be a “More” Button. Click the “More” Button and you should see either a small popup window block with additional Buttons/Links or a dropdown menu of additional overflow Buttons and, “Mentions” should be in the menu to be clicked on!
————-
Step 04:
————-
The view will change to the Section called Mentions and at the top of the Section there should be an area prompting you to create a new post and further down you can scroll through all of the previously made (and existing) visitor posts!
————-
Step 05:
————-
Create your new post
————-
Step 06:
————-
Share your new post to other Lost and Found Pet Groups and Pages, your personal profile and, to other neighborhood groups and pages that allow lost or found pet postings and to other social groups and pages that may be beneficial and may allow you to do so!
————-
Step 07:
————-
You are done but, it is recommended to join other local groups and pages and neighboring area groups and pages and share to those locations as well if they will allow you to. Note that if you live close to an area boundary and contact the admin of another adjoining areas group or page (that may state that you must live in their area to join) and, explain that your missing pet could be in their area then they will usually make an exception and allow you to join.
Also best practice is to create one post that is public such as on here and then, share it everywhere else, instead of making new posts so that you only have to make changes in one location which will be the original public post and then all changes will propagate to the instances of the original post nested within the shared posts!
Shared posts act like containers encapsulating a nested linked view of the original post within them but the original actually still resides where it was originally located and the encapsulated view of the original post acts like a dynamic instance meaning when the original changes the instance changes as well.
If you click on the encapsulated/nested instance of the original it takes you to the original post in its original location which in this case would bring you back to the original visitor post here in the Mention’s Section which is public!
See the screenshots below for reference!

NOTES:
————
Please note that these posts are immediate and are public just and can be shared immediately as well and, can be responded to commented on immediately as well!
No action is required by any admins but admins can share your original to the Main Page’s display Timeline (which is also called the Post’s Section that the Posts Button also takes you to which can be very confusing so just remember that VISITOR POSTS ARE FOUND IN THE MENTION’S SECTION AND NOT THE POST’S SECTION
——————————and——————————
ADMIN POSTS AND SHARES ARE FOUND IN THE POST’s SECTION which only contains Admin and Editor made posts) for easier spotting/finding by new visitors who may not realize that visitor posts are located in the Mention’s Section and, NOT in the Main Page Timeline aka Post’s Section.
It is bad practice to share a share though and is always better to click on the nested original post instance within the shared post to navigate to the Original Post and then share it from there no matter where the original may be located so, if you see a post on the Main Page Timeline containing a visitors post nested within it, please click on the nested post to go to it first even if it located elsewhere such as an individual’s personal profile if that is where the original is located and, share it from the original location instead!
Also, some of the images below were from another Lost and Found Pets Page I am an administrator on so please do not let that confuse you as it is the same procedure on this page and also all Facebook Business Pages which are different than Facebook Groups!
