Dental Day for Mr Billy yesterday. He was very nervous and tried soooo hard to be brave. Has long term issues w his teeth caused before he came into our care. However no deterioration since last checkup. Dr Meridith gave him a full tick of health. Drenched, Vaxed and Pedicure while he was still sleepy. 🤠

I rescued some ducklings today. 🤠🦆 They went swimming w the tide and found themselves stuck in a blocked drain. Mumma duck was a bit quackers as she couldn’t get them out. So I built a little stepping stone ladder for them to climb out. Saved the day. 🥰

SPRING is in the air

TROUPER UPDATE: Needless to say that this little man has been through a lot over the past couple of months. And true to his name .. he has been an absolute Trouper. Taking each new experience in his stride. Following his initial excessive hoof-removal & surgery of his man-hood (funded by his initial owner) ... watching him walk we could see that he was dragging his hind near side leg. It’s been a few months now of filing & shaping his hooves & there is definite improvement in his movement. Today his Body Worker confirmed stifle issues in his hind near side. Hard to say if this is something that he has inherited or if it is as a result of neglect & grossly over grown hooves. 🤷‍♀️ Either way .. regular trims & a good diet & exercise regime seems to be helping. In determining where Troupers future may lie ... health soundness is of the utmost importance. At this stage we won’t be Training him to be a lead-line pony. At this stage we feel he would be suited best as a paddock mate. Therefor .. Following his next Hoof Trim .. Trouper will be available for Adoption.

TROUPER & BILLY are feeling good .... BFFs 🥰

FARM STAY: This young lady is only 6mo hence needs at least 3 meals per day. She is currently on a weight-gain diet so we make her a lovely brown rice, egg, veggies & pet mince mixture. She absolutely loves it!! She also gets unlimited access to Black Hawk Puppy Kibble to snack on as well as fresh bones daily to keep her teeth healthy. Being a Kelpie, she is high energy, hence is loving our All Day Play opportunities. Her day starts at 6am where she can sniff, stretch her legs & do her doggie doo’s. Breaky is served at 7am, Lunch at midday, & dinner at 5pm. Bedtime starts at 9pm. Her favourite part of her farm stay is the doggie-socialisation that she gets when our regulars join us for Doggie Day Care. She doesn’t enjoy her baths very much ... but loves the game of tug that we play afterwards. Just soooo much fun. 🤠😎

PINNACLE PETS

About us: Whilst considering what name to call our Pet Care Service, we looked around the Yarra Valley Hills surrounding us and it was a no brainer that our business name would include the word “Pinnacle”. This was emphasised by our location on Pinnacle Lane, and that the farm is situated directly between the two Pinnacles. “Pets” is what we are all about, thus, “Pinnacle Pets” was created.

Initially we started out as a partnership, however, it was quickly realised that this is a family business. A family who desperately want the Farm to continue to remain in the Hudson family for generations to come. So far, our beloved farm has remained in our family for over 80 years. It has endured several fires including “the ‘29 fire” & “ ‘53 fire” which our late father Ray Hudson used to talk about relentlessly ... and the latest one in 2009. The 2009 fire changed the life of our tired old farm as it was the beginning of the end of an era for our father. It was also the beginning of a future for Jo Hudson (daughter of Ray Hudson) .. and now Kayla Hudson (granddaughter of Ray Hudson and niece to Jo).

We offer a multitude of services for a multitude of animals: Home Care (Pet Sitting); Farm Stay whilst you are away; Short Term & Emergency Agistment; Rugs on/off Service; Trimming & Shoe Removal; Rehabilitation Care; Doggy Day Care; Dog Walking; Dog Wash; Goat Hire; Pet Taxi for small & large animals. We can also assist with Drenching and immunisations for all pets.
