Dog Hiking & Walking Adventures + Training

Embark on a unique canine adventure with our dog hiking and walking + training service!

Tailored for busy dog owners who crave more than a routine stroll, we blend the joy of outdoor exploration with personalized training sessions. Experienced Owner/Head Trainer Amber will guide your furry friend through scenic trails, addressing obedience and behavior challenges along the way. Elevate your dog’s physical and mental well-being while enjoying the convenience of a combined hiking and training experience. This is a great way to maintain your dog’s training after our programs! Join us for a journey of exercise, enrichment, and obedience in the great outdoors!

— 1x Weekly: $180 | 2x Weekly: $250 —
— Individual Private Hike Session: $80 —

• Regular Hiking Sessions: A set number of group or private hiking sessions per week, tailored to your subscription level. Private hiking additional $10 per session for Trail+Train Monthly Memberships.

• Personalized Training: Integrated structured training during hikes to maintain training obedience and behavior skills.

• Progress Reports: Regular updates on your dog’s development and achievements.

• Flexible Scheduling: Options for rescheduling or adjusting sessions to accommodate your changing needs.

Contact us to discuss the ideal customized Trail + Train Membership Plan for you and your pup. Dogs must have basic leash manners, good with other dogs, no human aggression. Dogs with reactivity must do private sessions. Essential Equipment available for additional price.

For Kiba it’s some high value treats - he loves treat rolls specifically!

Recall Training Tips
• Set your dog up for success! Use a long line for reinforcement.
• Start in a low distraction environment first, then work your way up.
• Reward those engagement “Check-In’s”!
• Practice at different distances, again starting small first then working up.
• Don’t forget to make it fun! Use what your dog finds rewarding: treats, toys or praise!

🐾 Place Training Pro Tips 🐾

Hey there, fellow dog lovers! As a professional dog trainer here are some simple tips & insights into effective place training.

🏠 What is "Place"? It's more than just a command; it's a fundamental skill that enhances your dog's self-control and calmness.

💜 Why is it essential? Because it helps your pup learn to relax, settle and decompress in a specific spot. Whether at home, a cafe, or in the great outdoors. This also provides mental stimulation so they use their brain to focusing that they are on “Place”. Giving a Kong or Edible Chew is also a great while your dog is on Place.

Here are some 5-step tips to Place Work:
1️⃣ Choose a designated spot - this can be a mat, bed, or a particular area.
2️⃣ Start with short durations - If your dog comes off Place before you’ve them their release word, guide them back onto Place.
3️⃣ Use treats, praise, and patience to encourage your pup to stay on their "place."
4️⃣ Gradually increase the time they spend on Place and reward good behavior.
5️⃣ Don’t forget to use their release word when you are ready for them to be finished with the behavior!

Socializing around other dogs & fixing slight dog reactivity from excitement. Here you can see he was under threshold and I even tested his recall off focusing on a dog. He did amazing! This was progress from fixing his dog reactivity from letting him play with too many dogs when he was younger. ❗️Can you believe he used to whine, scream, couldn’t stop focusing on a dog and I’d have to drag him away? It was SO embarrassing! 😬😭So if you’ve ever dealt with something similar, don’t worry - I have been in your shoes! It takes time but we can work on it, I can help! ☺️ Now:✔️ Doesn’t go crazy when he sees another dog ✔️ Gives me eye contact & engagement ✔️ Walks nicely on a leash & doesn’t try to pull towards a dogThe biggest thing I learned is dog socialization does not mean just play with all the dogs, say hi to them, or have to meet them.I wish I would have found a better trainer when he was young to help guide me then the one I did go to - but it’s okay I got super invested in dog training and behavior to just became a trainer myself instead! 🤣 Thankfully his reactivity was only excitement based but it definitely took time!
