Had a fantastic day at the Hound Club of East Anglia open show today, Sirena (Picollo Teckel Sirena at Paradigm) won 🥇 in open and then won best in breed 🏆 she is such a special dog and gives so much
Hector (Paradigm Hector Colossus) was awarded second 🥈 in Puppy and his mother Daphne (Paradigm Dark Star) was awarded second 🥈 in Postgraduate

*Alert* Smug post incoming 😏
We have recently taken to crate training our puppies before they leave us, we used to just use a very large dog bed and then send them on their way. We now use a very large dog crate in the last few weeks they spend with us to begin getting them used to it. And when you get feedback like below it makes it all the worthwhile 😌
“She’s been amazing, she only made a little noise for about 15 mins when we first went to bed and then she was quiet the whole night! She was perfect! X”

So last night Molly went into labour and delivered 5 beautiful, healthy puppies (3 girls and 2 boys). She did an amazing job and I’m very proud of her, mum and pups are doing well and I can’t wait to see how they develop 😊

Now, our dogs 🐕 are pretty good at going to do their business and we don’t get many problems but at the moment their a**l glands are 🤢 smelling vile
The glands are essential to dogs because it harbours their scent which they use to communicate with other dogs, hence the sniffing of each others butts but we’re not massive fans of getting them “cleaned” because you can end up doing more harm than good
So add some psyllium husk to their food (appropriate to their size and weight, you can find guides online) to bulk up their digestive track and enable them to have a firm constitution when they next go 😉 and this will put pressure on the glands and naturally clear them, use it as and when required

So. We’re baaaaad dog parents, it was Sirena’s birthday 🥳 on the 9th of May and we did remember but forgot to celebrate 🙊 but Sirena forgave us when she was presented a nice serving of beef 🥩 topside from the Sunday roast with two candles to celebrate 🎉 her turning two years old
She is a gorgeous little creature bred by and we love 💕 her to pieces!

How time flies! It’s 🐶 Molly’s 4th birthday 🥳 today and mummy managed to buy steak 🥩 at the local butchers (just round the corner, social distancing was observed 😉) I certainly think it’s essential to celebrate 🎉 the little things at the moment! Thanks Irina for entrusting this little moomin to us 🥰 we love her so much!

What a day! Team Paradigm had a happy day at Crufts 2020, Sirena (Picollo Teckel Sirena at Paradigm) was first up in Yearling Bitch which was a very large class of 20 entries, she achieved a very commendable 4th place. Daphne (Paradigm Dark Star) and Hilda (Paradigm Cepheus Flare) were up next in the Limit class which again was a large class, Hilda showed well but her sister Daphne achieved third 🥉 place so an improvement on last year! All in all, we were pleased with the dogs chosen as the breed winners! But most of all, the Best in Show winner Maisie (Ch. Silvae Trademark) the Wire Haired Standard Dachshund! The first ever Dachshund to win Best in Show at Crufts ever!

So we were present at Great Yarmouth, Gorleston & District Canine Society Premier Open show today where there was a good amount of entries in the miniature smooth haired dachshunds
Sirena (aka Picollo Teckel Sirena at Paradigm) was awarded 1st 🥇 in Special Yearling
Daphne (aka Paradigm Dark Star) was awarded 1st 🥇 in Limit
Hilda (aka Paradigm Cepheus Flare) was awarded 1st 🥇 in Open
Meaning we had three dogs in the challenge but only two sets of hands 🤣 a first for us but thanks to our friends around the ring who stepped in to help! Sirena was awarded Best of Breed 🏆

Lovely day at Stafford Agricultural Showground yesterday, unfortunately no placings at the Houndshow Championship Show but we did get two seconds at the Midland Dachshund Club Championship Show:

We had a fabulous day at the East of England Championship Show 🤗 Sirena (Picollo Teckel Sirena at Paradigm) was in a large Junior class (11 entries) which she won and in the end, she obtained best of breed! The second time she has achieved this! We went into the group at the end for the first time and this was an amazing experience for us. Well done to all the Picollo Teckel dogs as Ch Picollo Teckel Never Say Never at Royalmaple JW was awarded Reserve Best Bitch. Thank you to Judge Ian Blackshaw for thinking so highly of our special girl 😊 well done to all the other competitors!
