Living in Lone Tree, this black Lab is the sweetest, most mellow 8-year-old pup who has been enjoying her 45-minute walks with YBFF for years!

Another situation where a homeowner went way over their limit for pets. Not quite a hoarding situation but too many for regulations. All of these guys are very social, playful and loving. All came in with Upper Respiratory issues, but they have all been medicated and vetted. Healthy now and ready for adoption, you can meet Mittens, Nathaniel, Pepe, Luna, Lena and Willow at the EAPL Cat Adoption Center located in Chow Down Pet Supplies in Evergreen. They are a delightful bunch who want nothing better than attention. If at all shy, it's because we had to force medication on them for 10 days. No one likes that! Be sure to meet everyone when you stop by - surely one of them will be a good fit.

Blake is a sweet Labradoodle mix. He is very smart and is already working on fetch and the sit command. At 9 weeks old he is progressing on potty training. He does well in his pen area going on the puppy pads and regularly does his business outside. He is very friendly and likes to play with toys. He still has some puppy excitement in the day but not as much as most puppies we have had. We have been training him with a harness and leash and he is building stamina for walking. Blake is going to make someone very happy. He does great with our kids (with an occasional puppy biting but he should grow out of that quickly). The vet guessed he would be around 55-60 lbs. as an adult. Come visit Blake, you are sure to fall in love. His adoption fee is $300 ($250 adoption fee includes his alter at our assigned vet + $50 neuter deposit) Put in an application at eapl.com

She is a 14-year-old DSH that lives in Denver with her Dad. Paisley loves to sleep, play with her feather, and get brushed! We care for her 3-4 times a year when her dad is away.

I want to share some unsettling news with you all.

This is from a Colorado News source and cites a Veterinarian from VCA Alameda East Hospital.

"A severe respiratory illness is going around, impacting dogs in the metro area - the usual treatments don't seem to be working, and some cases are turning deadly."

It lasts weeks longer than kennel cough, and commonly results in pneumonia. It is contagious and can be contracted through contact and is also airborne.

Things to watch for:
coughing
sneezing
nasal discharge
rapid/labored breathing

Things you can do to protect your dog:
canine influenza vaccine
Bordetella vaccine
keep your dog home as much as possible.
avoid dog parks, doggy day cares, and boarding facilities.

From the Vet, "consider an in-home pet sitter, if possible, at least over the next few months".

Let's keep everyone safe during the holidays! Please follow the protection tips and watch your babies closely for any symptoms. We here at YBFF will also keep a close eye on your pets when we are with them.
