Talbert Beeyards We are a business operating in North Carolina. Our company produces organic honey in chemical-free hives.

We only use locally-bred bees and only use locally produced beekeeping equipment. We prefer equipment produced by Brushy Mountain Bee Farm in North Carolina. This equipment is made in the USA by Americans making a good living. They care about what they do and share our philosophy of producing a great product.

So the pesticides in America bring us to this?

There aren’t enough honeybees for ever-growing agricultural needs, so BloomX invented mobile units that bio-mimic the job of the bee.

I find it interesting that articles about bee issues completely skip the obvious issue of pesticides. The USA has pesticides that have been banned worldwide and cause bee navigation issues thus "colony collapse." They also degrade the ability of bees to over-winter through the harsh cold. The pesticide companies own the seed companies and they are self-regulated with little Federal oversight. As usual we are approaching a disaster in food production so things have to be a crisis to demand action. Standby.

American beekeepers lost nearly half of their hives in the 2022 growing season. That’s just a bit lower than the previous highest loss on record — which occurred the previ…

Downtown Greensboro midday today. It was a warm June day with Talbert Beeyards on site to extract a colony of bees that have swarmed into the eave of a house. The screen wire cone restricts the entrance and the nucleus colony box is installed complete with a frame of new brood (bee larvae) taken from a hive early this morning in the Talbert Beeyards apiary. There is essential oil in the box from lemongrass oil to swarm commander. That is Brian Talbert on the ladder and Andrew on the base of the ladder after a morning of working to get brood and even some honey from some hives. Two stings later Brian gets it done and now the wait. Let's see that queen come out!

Recently my brother Brian and I removed a very large colony of bees from a camper. I moved them to a hive body where they set up house and two weeks later even swarmed despite me taking steps to stop it...I have now split the colony to make even more bees...This was a 'cut out" job that took over three hours and I don't have photos of the back section of hive as we were covered in honey and debris. But the bees are removed and safely multiplying...I put a few notes in the photos...

From a swarm in a tree to a hive 30 miles away in less than one day. Homeless bees are now living in a mini-mansion at Talbert Beeyards. Good work by BTO saving a very healthy colony.

I guess you can add the end of bees in the USA to your bingo card for the near future. The US government refuses to do anything about this. I can assure you these chemicals are killing bees all over the country. That is why the smart countries have long banned these chemicals. https://www.wired.com/story/the-epa-may-extend-the-use-of-pesticides-that-paralyze-bees/?bxid=5c48e2e1fc942d0477ab9174&cndid=23658857&esrc=AUTO_OTHER&source=EDT_WIR_NEWSLETTER_0_DAILY_ZZ&utm_brand=wired&utm_campaign=aud-dev&utm_content=WIR_Daily_031322&utm_mailing=WIR_Daily_031322&utm_medium=email&utm_source=nl&utm_term=P3

Later this year, the agency will decide whether to allow four chemicals, which have been banned in Europe, to continue being used on US farms.

I’m selling off some equipment...This stainless steel honey extractor and tank comes with a stand. You can see it was stored in the box since I purchased it new from Brushy Mountain Bee Company. Original cost $900. Make me a back channel offer via messenger and you can buy it. This is a very nice extractor and Brushy Mountain no longer exists...unfortunately...loved that business.

I saw one of these last night at my hives...in a birdbath that I setup with gravel and sugar water to feed my girls. I literally tried to smash it with my hand but missed. I have been watching for it again several times today. This insect is no joke. There are so many things working against my bees but I am still trying....bees are very awesome things to have in this world.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/02/us/asian-giant-hornet-washington.html

Sightings of the Asian giant hornet have prompted fears that the vicious insect could establish itself in the United States and devastate bee populations.

EPA restores broad use of pesticide opposed by beekeepers

Really. When are people going to pay attention and not set us up to starve after the bees are gone? This is beyond politics...this is biology and survival. https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/epa-reverses-ban-pesticide-seen-170829055.html

The Environmental Protection Agency will allow farmers to resume broad use of a pesticide over objections from beekeepers, citing private chemical industry studies that the agency says show the product does only lower-level harm to bees and wildlife. Friday's EPA announcement — coming after the

Honeybees hit by Trump budget cuts

I would trade a small part of the federal budget to keep this up and running. Once the bees are extinct it’s going to be hard to feed the huge growing population. https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/06/politics/honeybees-study-usda-donald-trump-budget-cuts/index.html

The US Department of Agriculture has suspended data collection for its annual Honey Bee Colonies report, citing cost cuts -- a move that robs researchers and the honeybee industry of a critical tool for understanding honeybee population declines, and comes as the USDA is curtailing other research pr...

On the Trail of Tupelo Honey, Liquid Gold From the Swamps

Tupelo Honey
Van Morrison

You can take all the tea in China
Put it in a big brown bag for me
Sail right around all the seven oceans
Drop it straight into the deep blue sea
She's as sweet as Tupelo honey
She's an angel of the first degree
She's as sweet as Tupelo honey
Just like honey from the bee
You can't stop us on the road to freedom
You can't keep us 'cause our eyes can see
Men with insight, men in granite
Knights in armor bent on chivalry
She's as sweet as Tupelo honey
She's an angel of the first degree
She's as sweet as Tupelo honey
Just like honey, baby, from the bee
You can't stop us on the road to freedom
You can't stop us 'cause our eyes can see
Men with insight, men in granite
Knights in armor intent on chivalry

Hurricanes, blights and encroaching development have cut into the harvest in Florida and Georgia, but a small cadre of beekeepers still fiercely pursues this lucrative prize.

Sometimes people call and want bees taken out of a house. It is amazing what bees can do inside a structure. I have seen honey flows from sheet rock inside a house...they do build quite a hive.

This is what I mean by AWESOME. The comb wasn't overly-attached to the bricks AND this is one of the largest single pieces of comb I've ever seen! With the exception of seven narrow honey combs in the center top of the hive, this was two large flat combs.

This Robotic Pollinator Is Like a Huge Bee With Wheels and an Arm

Kinda' sad that robots may have to replace bees. Bees are no match for corporate chemicals. The government does not give a s**t about bees...it's all about money and greed. I wonder if anyone will care until the crops start failing? What do you think? https://www.wired.com/story/robotic-pollinator/?CNDID=23658857&mbid=nl_052718_daily_list1_p2

In a world with too many humans and not enough pollinators, robots like the BrambleBee could help.
