🐾 Meet Bear – The Pup Learning to Focus in the Real World!

Say hi to Bear, an adorable Labrador Retriever puppy training with Koru K9’s Austin, TX dog trainers, Haley and Trey. 🐶💛

Today’s lesson? Distraction training at the park — one of the most important foundations for raising a calm, confident, and well-mannered dog.

🐾 Jett’s Journey With Koru K9 – Part 2

✨ From Fearful to Focused: Building Confidence, One Step at a Time

Meet Jett, a rescue pup in our 3-Week Board & Train Program in the San Francisco Bay Area, working with trainer Kathi.

This week, our focus was all about building leash confidence and expanding his environment — and Jett is making incredible progress!

✅ He’s now walking calmly in different areas around the home — a huge step for a once-fearful pup.
✅ We’ve started layering in formal obedience commands like heel, sit, and place as his confidence grows.
✅ Indoors, he’s eating more regularly — a sign of trust and relaxation.

He’s still too nervous to take food outside, and that’s okay. We’re letting Jett move at his own pace, meeting him where he is.

He still shows some bolting tendencies after potty breaks (about 50/50), but that’s already improving! Each walk teaches him that staying calm and connected with his handler leads to rewards — not fear.

Jett is learning to trust, to relax, and to enjoy working with humans again. 💛
