update Simon has been found!!!

This was one of our foster homes. The orange tabby that ran out of the home is named Simon he is lame and had just been neutered. Please contact us if you see him. We would appreciate the help to keep him safe.

this young male is good with females but growls at men. He is young and these girls would love for him to get a home, he is in Visalia Animal Care center. He does know some commands.

Yesterday, September 27, we lost a long time volunteer, Ed Dickey. Loving known to us as Mr. Ed, he volunteered on and off since almost the very beginning of our formation.

He helped us a lot on weekends to set up and take down our adoption sites at PetCo and/or PetSmart and when we received donation calls. He fostered mostly canines but also did a few felines too.

His presence will be missed by all of us.

This is Chamomile. She’s a young mom, kittens born 3/25. 2 of her 3 kittens were killed this week by a tom cat so she was pulled from the colony. She was also attacked.
I’m looking for someone to foster her from today. We don’t have a place for her yet.
She might be willing to nurse another orphan kitten.

 Love of Animals received Poppy about a month ago. She was abandoned and very pregnant. Last night she went into labor and the first puppy was stuck in a breech birth halfway in and halfway out of her. Her foster took her to the Visalia emergency vet who informed her that they could not handle that situation. They told her to take the dog to Fresno emergency. This was at 2 AM. Immediately going to Fresno emergency the dog had to have surgery. Unfortunately, the stuck puppy did not make it, but via C-section she had four live puppies.  unfortunately the bill was between $4500 and $5000.  if anyone can donate, Love of Animals would much appreciate it. We are seeking another foster home or two for canine companions. Currently we have two small foster canines with all services completed that need a new foster home.

Our time with our pass president is coming to a close and we have been able to adopt or secure a new home. She still has two left. Brat and Zoey.

Dogs are able to do more then just fetch a stick or ball!!!

Years back we had a foster mom who rescued a canine. Without any formal training, this companion was able to tell when she was about to have a Grand mal seizure.

He would guide her to a safe area before it started in. Which helped her very much to have a more controlled environment. She ended up adopting this companion who made her life better.

So just some advice, if your canine companion comes to you and seems worried, you yourself maybe having a medical issue that they can smell.

Maybe this might help the general public to understand why shelters and rescues are overwhelmed. This year people who got companions during Covid are suddenly returning them or simply abandoning them.

This is just for the Tulare County Animal Services on Ave 256.....

Statistics:

Fiscal Year 21/22 Stats (July 1, 2021-June 30, 2022)

ACO Calls for service: 6,496 (up 1,300 from previous FY)

Calls for Service July 2022: 488 (currently have 3 ACOs)

Animal Intake: 5,036 (up 1,400 from previous FY)

Live Release Rate: 87%

Clinic Spay/Neuter since 10/1/21: 2,622 (1730 cats, 890 dogs, 2 goats)

Clinic Vaccines: 2,500

Monthly Intake

June 2022: 577 (up 150 from previous year)

July 2022: 640 (up 180 from previous year)

August 2022 (first 11 days): 250 (up 77 from previous year)
