After much deliberation and the care of my very loyal customers, I have reached the difficult decision to retire and spend some quality time with my Family, Friends and of course my Horse who is now the grand old age of 32
The whole journey has been amazing, I am extremely grateful for everyones support, I am so lucky to have had my own business and made some wonderful friends along the way.
Booking details are as follows:-
New Customers - unfortunately no new customers with immediate effect
Existing Customers - from 15th July 2024 there will be no further appointment bookings available, all existing appointments will be honoured but may have to change slightly to assist with my booking process and commitments.
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported K9 Pride & Groom for your friendship, custom and understanding.
Please support Lydia Harrison who is an exellent groomer with her own salon The Groom Shed who has worked alongside me and is taking most of my clients and occasionally you may see me assisting.
Thanks again Love to All and of course huge hugs to the pooches

Please help in any way you can, every pound will add to research for not only Kieran but so many of our loved ones. Keep fighting guys.

Some of you will have met Lydia who has recently been working with me and is successfully running her new grooming parlour "The Groom Shed"

Lydia is raising funds for cancer research due to her partner Kieran being diagnosed with Cancer and every little bit of support will be so impportant to them and so many others. If anyone can donate it will be very much appreciated.

Even 50 pence to your next groom will help show your love and support.

Please help if you can, if not financially pass on your support when bringing your pooch leave a message with me and I will make sure they are all.passed on.

Many Thanks

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I’m running 62 miles in March to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. Please show your support and help fund life-saving research by donating to my page.

My little Mate. I Will miss you 😥 This boy was my first schnauzer after I qualifed as a dog groomer, he taught me so much. He became my little mate, I absolutely loved grooming him. He was a cheeky chappy with attitude but most of all he was a real gentleman. Today I groomed Brewster another schnauzer in his memory, I will miss you Oscar but you will always hold a special place in my heart

I would like to say a huge Thank you to everyone that has supported me over the last few weeks. For those who may not know, my horse has been having some unwell ups and downs and is still giving us all some sleepless nights. Unfortunatley, this may impact on your appointment, resulting in either rearranging or cancelling your pooches grooming session. I will do my upmost to honour all appointments but please bear with me at this extremely difficult time. My horse is my bestest friend and needs my undivided attention at this time however, I will attempt to keep K9 Pride & Groom operating to the best I can. Much appreciated. ###

Lockdown Update

The Gov website now states that Animal grooming facilities may stay open but must ONLY be used for the purposes of the animal’s welfare (and not for aesthetic purposes), also has provided more information to groomers with regards to protocol.

Leeds City Council has confirmed that grooming can only be carried out to prevent or alleviate any suffering but regular non essential grooms should wait.

Some coat types are more likely to matte. Some dogs have skin, eye or nail issues and these are the dogs I would consider to need grooming for welfare reasons.

Animal welfare and prevention of matting is something that can be done at home by brushing daily in most cases.

Please consider if your dog needs to attend their scheduled grooming appointment as we should all be doing our bit to avoid the spread of the virus.

ONLY LEAVE HOME IF IT IS ESSENTIAL.
ONLY MAKE/ATTEND YOUR APPOINTMENT IF IT IS ESSENTIAL.

If you feel your appointment can wait without your dogs welfare becoming compromised then please give me a message and we can take a look at later dates for you.

Some customers may be contacted to make changes to existing appointments

Thankyou for your patience, loyalty and understanding. I am always at the end of the phone for any advice just give me a call.

Stay safe everyone

✂️‼️🐶IMPORTANT✂️‼️🐶

Under the new lockdown the Goverment guidance states that Animal grooming facilities may stay open but must only be used for the purposes of the animal’s welfare (and not for aesthetic purposes).

Anyone with an existing appointment, I will message you directly to confirm if your appointment needs to be rescheduled as some breeds will need to take priority. I am also reducing my hours during this period to ensure all guidelines are adhered to.

Many thanks for your understanding and patience during these difficult times and I thank you for all your support. I am sorry that some appts will be rearranged but every effort will be made to accommodate new ones at the earliest opportunity.

Stay safe everyone

Kind Regards

Lesley.###

I am pleased to confirm that K9 Pride & Groom can continue to deliver a service throughout Lockdown. There are strict protocols to follow so if all customers could wear a face mask and stop at the first gate where we can social distance a handover. Thank you for your patience.

03/11/2020

I am still awaiting an update from the appropriate authorities and regulatory bodies to establish if I can continue to deliver a service. Please be assured every effort is being made to allow me to honour all appointments however, if I am instructed to close I will make every effort to rearrange appointments as best I can. Please bear with me I will contact individual customers as soon as I have a decision.

A beautiful yorkie x sh*tzu I have been grooming since 2016 is sadly looking for a new home. He is a small dog and unfortunately due to a bereavement is searching for a loving home. He is 5 year old very handsome and currently lives with young children, he knows his own mind but is a beautiful little boy and I would love him to be rehomed to a loving home. If you are seriously interested I am happy to share some pictures for you to see and arrange a meeting. It must be a permanent home to avoid any further upset for him and the family.

Further Good News and Latest Guidelines from CSFG for England Groomers.

Prior to the P.M announcement on Monday, Groomers that could work from home could only operate to customers within walking distance or could be collected & returned by their Groomer with strict hygiene/handover protocols. Unfortunately this is only one of the reasons why there is a lengthy wait for new appointments.

GOOD NEWS From Monday the guidance has now been updated and allows customers to drive to drop off and collect their dog. This unfortunately wont help bring you an earlier appointment in my diary but it does mean that I can start booking all dogs in for their grooms.

There are strict guidelines I have to follow once in my care to ensure the safety of the customer, their dog and of myself. All scissors/brushes and grooming items have to be sterilised after every groom, my whole room bath/table has to disinfected between every groom, these guidelines have a great impact on how many dogs I am able to groom per day and obviously has a huge impact on the dates that can be given in my diary but they are very important and necessary.

Please bear with me as I try to fit as many of you in as I can, I appreciate everyone is desperate for their dogs grooming but I have to ensure all guidelines are adhered to allow me to deliver the service in accordance with the regulations.

It has been wonderful to have been back grooming this week and look forward to seeing many more of you as soon as I can.

Furthermore, I would like to wish you all a safe and healthy time and thank you again for all your patience and support to me and each other in this very difficult time.

09/05/2020

Good News. I am now back up and running. However, I am working to strict guidelines to ensure you, your dog and I are safe and well.

I have a huge amount of cancelled appointments to rearrange so please bear with me whilst I try to rearrange everyone's appointments.

Those who had appointments booked that were cancelled that have breeds that are likely to be difficult to manage will take priority for the care and well being of the dog. I will then do my best to prioritise all those with cancelled appointments. All new appointments will be booked at the very earliest opportunity.

New Customers, I appreciate you too will be experiencing difficulties accessing groomers, I can add you to a waiting list but please do contact your current groomer if you have one as they will do their best to assist you.

Thank you so much for your patience throughout this, it is a very difficult time for all of us but if we all follow the guidance we will stay well and save lives.

Keep up the brushing guys and gals less knots means more happy pooches

Hope to see you all very soon

BRUSHES : your pooches may not like them but for dogs that get knotty or fluffy the best brushes are slickers (pin brushes)

Try to section the coat and do bit by bit getting in as close to the skin as you can without scratching the skin.

A tip for dogs with a malting coat

04/04/2020

A short video albeit on my short haired border but tried to show how to do round eyes and shorten fringe. TIP 1: dont blow the hair off your dogs face when you have cut most dont like it try just move the hair away with your fingers or comb. TIP 2: dont be tempted to snip a bit more and a bit more as you risk getting too close to the skin only take enough away to clear the vision

03/04/2020

Hi there everyone. Just wanted to say I hope you are all safe and well and taking care of yourselves and your pooches. Some of you will be at a point where you are thinking of doing your own home grooming, please, please be really careful around eyes and feet if you are considering sc******ng, please if I can help at all please ring me and we can try a messenger/whats app link up so I can talk you through it or alternatively just ring for advice. There are some excellent videos out there but there are some really bad ones so please don't hesitate to contact me.

I will be reviewing the situation following the next government announcement next week and will update you all as soon as I can.

Your pooches will manage for a good few weeks so please try not to get to anxious, a good brush a day will help them feel more comfortable just concentrate on reducing any knots getting into the coat as close to the skin as you can.

Missing you all, Take Care and stay in the shade this weekend

Hope to see you all soon

Following the Prime Ministers announcement this evening I am unfortunately closed with immediate effect . So so sorry for those who have bookings this week I will be contacring you tomorrow. All appointments for the next 3 week will be suspended and will be given priority once things have been lifted. May and June bookings will remain in place at this moment in time.

I will be keeping upto date with any changes and will be taking bookings as soon as the government allows me to.

If anyone needs any advice please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to give you guidance where I can.

Thank you all for your support

Stay safe everyone, stay at home and enjoy the time you have with your family and pets.

Once again I am sorry to let you down but it is important to save peoples lives.

Best Wishes

Lesley
