💙💙Rolf Update💙💙
His photo and story touched hearts across the county and around the world when Rolf was surrendered at a South Florida Shelter for IVDD where he could have immediately been euthanized. A tidal wave of love and support has come flooding in for this sweet boy and we want to keep everyone updated on his condition and status.
Rolf is under the care of Dr. Kornberg at Southeast Veterinary Neurology and we were heartbroken when an MRI revealed that Rolf is not a candidate for surgery. After the results of the first MRI without contracst, Dr. Kornberg went back and did it again, this time with contrast and that is when he saw the extend of the "brightness" on Rolf's spinal cord.
At this time we are not sure if the issue is trauma related or something else so your support has also made it possible for Rolf to have a spinal tap to rule out any kind of infectious diseases and we are awaiting those results.
Rolf is resting comfortably at SEVN with their amazing team and we will know more in the next few days as the spinal tap test results come back in.
There are no words to express our gratitude for the love and generosity that has come to Rolf. So many people are thanking DRSF for saving him, but it is truly YOU, our community that is making it possible. For over 11 years now, you have been there each and every single time a dog has been in need.
Not only have you ensured that we can do everything possible to help Rolf, but you have also reminded us, for every family who surrenders a dog to the shelter, there are 100's more who loved their dogs through IVDD, rehabbed them, did surgery, didn't do surgery and loved them on wheels, learned to how express them, and learned how to care for them in a different way as they are loved and a part of your family.
Rescue is a team sport and we have the best team out there. We will keep everyone updated on Rolf and thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for making his and so many other rescues possible. 💙💙
