Who We Are

Pet Awareness and Welfare Society

PAWS for SJACS is an all volunteer group. We work closely with San Jose Animal Care and Services and local rescues to help provide adoptable, homeless animals with non-routine medical care; additional aid is provided through specially funded PAWS for SJACS programs, such as spay/neuter, animal assistance projects, and community outreach. Donations mad

e through this website and to our group, help provide medical care to animals that have a relationship with SJACS (eg. rescued from the shelter, through A*O intervention with a case number, have an A #) and are non-hospice, non-reclaim status. Your donations provide these animals with needed medical care and help them get healthy as we find them forever homes.

We are so thankful for San Jose Woman's Club having awarded us a donation from their Annual Charitable Giving Campaign, to help us with the SNIPBUS efforts. We know there are so many needy and worthy organizations in our community, and are honored to be supported in our efforts to fix owned pets in San Jose.

We are so happy to report that PAWS for SJACS has raised enough money, thanks to some extremely generous donors, to supplement the money we will be raising from our vaccine clinics to fund two SNIPBUSes per month to fix San Jose resident-owned pets. On the average, this will fix 70 pets/month and help to supplement the needs of the community until the San Jose shelter can get their owned pet program running.

We are able to do this with donations and proceeds from our vaccine clinic. Thank you to all that have made donations for us to allow to to do this. Go to our website for information.

PAWS for SJACS is so thankful for the donations that we've gotten so far to help us with our efforts assisting San Jose owned pets to get fixed inexpensively by using the snip bus. We are running this campaign through the end of the year and are so hoping to get more donations. At this point we have enough funding for 2 buses, early in the year, one of which will be cats only as it is ideal to get the females fixed in winter to assure they do not get pregnant, as they start coming into heat in january and february

Our 13th St Cats Tree is officially up at Christmas in the Park!🎄

You can find us at the southeast end, right across from the hot chocolate stand — the perfect spot to warm your hands and your heart. 🐾

This year, we debuted our custom cat tree structure, something we hope to use year after year as a destination people seek out every holiday season. Each year, the ornaments will change with a new theme — but the love for our community cats will stay the same.

Huge thank you to the people who brought this vision to life:
✨ Emily Ingoglia – for creating our ornaments
✨ Laura Tegtmeyer & Michelle Melby – for helping with tree setup
✨ Brendan Maguire – for designing our beautiful tree structure

We invite you to visit our tree, take photos, scan the QR code, and learn how you can support our nonprofit and the cats who need homes this holiday season.

And while you’re in the giving spirit…
We’re raising $20k for 20 years of rescue work through our Giving Tuesday Fundraiser — and every donation is being matched by one of our longtime sponsors! Your gift goes twice as far to help the cats who need us most.

💛 Donate here: https://www.13thstcats.org/info/donate

Come celebrate with us at Christmas in the Park — and help make the season brighter for Santa Clara County’s cats.🎄

Giving Tuesday is here and no better time to help PAWS for SJACS help San Jose residents with spay/neuter of their pets at more affordable prices. We are pleased to partner with the SNIPBUS and sponsor buses for San Jose Residents when we have the funding to do it. So please help us reach our goal of being able to fund 2 buses a month. While we do some of the funding raised thru our Vaccine Clinic the cost per bus is $5000 which on average can fix 30 + animals, so more money is needed to continue our efforts.
