A good trick to get cats that are afraid of cat carriers is to only put their food inside the carrier. Leave the carrier open and comfy like such as a blanket in their area and put the food inside at meal times.
The fosters stella and lilly hate the carrier. But we've been getting them acclimated to this one as their adoption day is coming closer.

More progress :)
Found Lilly on my bed and she didn't run from me. She's still skittish but is putting up with us. I can easily pet her during feed times. She doesn't attack any of us and likes to be in the same room as us.

Excuse the horrible video. I was so shocked that Lilly not only didn't run away from for the 1st time BUT let me pet her for so long with zero hissing or nipping at me! My patience with her and my persistence to sit, talk, and pet her some every day I can is paying off!
This poor abandoned beauty since she was a tiny kitten has gone from stalking and attacking me to slowly letting humans love on her.
I'm sure her mom stella is happy with that because she was getting defensive for me whenever Lilly would get mad at me.
So yay to progress.
Which is just in time as they go to their new home mid August together!

Stella (2yrs) and Lilly (1yr) are doing great still and still looking for homes. We are no longer requiring that they be adopted together, but would prefer it if possible.
Stella loves snuggle on the coach or bed with you. She gets along with my kids and cats and puts up with (just hisses) at the dogs. She enjoys being scratched head to toe, especially on the nose. When she heads to the cat tower,.that's her saying she's down with being touched and needs a break.

Lilly is a work in progress but she's come a long way. She lets me pet her while she eats and likes to lay on the floor in the same room as me. She even lets me pick her up for a hot second lol. That's it at this point, but that's way farther from when she first arrived and would attack us in fear. She is a sweetheart.
I have a cat (siamese type) of my own that acted only as a decoration cat for 4 years and then she finally decided we could pet her anytime and snuggles with me. So decoration cats can definitely eventually come around.

It's been a hot second since any update on the fosters has been given. We've been busy with our own sick kid who ended up having surgery and then spent 5 days on vacay with her doctor's approval.
Stella and Lilly are doing great still and still looking for homes. We are no longer requiring that they be adopted together, but would prefer it if possible.
Stella loves snuggle on the coach or bed with you. She gets along with my kids and cats and puts up with (just hisses) at the dogs. She enjoys being scratched head to toe, especially on the nose. When she heads to the cat tower,.that's her saying she's down with being touched and needs a break.

Available for adoption together. $80 total for them both. This cost goes right back into the foster fund. They are dewormed, no fleas, fixed, up to date on shots, and microchipped.
They are available after June 10. You are free to schedule to meet them if you want, just be warned they are still skittish around new people due to what they went through.
We thought previously they had main c**n in them now it seems they are mainly domestic long hair tabbies.
Stella (2yr old) and her daughter Lilly (est 10mon old) are both available for adoption.
They will need a home with no little kids. Lilly was abandoned as a kitten with her mom. She has big trust issues with people but she loves my quiet company and simple pets here and there. Stella likes to sit next with me on the couch and get belly rubs. They both have come far and they get along with my personal cats. They do not like my dogs or kids however and the noise of little ones frightens them. But they are a cute pair of floofs.
We've had these cats since March 20, helping them get used to being loved on and recieving pets ❤️

New arrivals today. These cute floofs are bonded female mainc**ns and roughly around 1yrs old. They were abandoned by their previous owner and I was called by the homes new tenant asking if I could take these cats instead of animal control. The new tenant had a hard time containing them b/c they have been alone for awhile in the house with 2 other cats. The mee tenant has their own pets and volunteered to keep 2 of the 4 cats on top their own. So that's awesome.
These 2 girls are scared/timid but they let me pet them. If interested please contact me.
They won't be available till they are fixed, shots, microchipped, tested, and such.

Jack and Pawl are going to their new homes today! We are excited and sad at the time. We have been fostering them since October looking for their furever homes.
Sally is still available for adoption! She is shy but very sweet. She is our favorite out of the 5 kittens. Her fur is super soft, she's quiet, playful, and loved to cuddle with me and the kids and my cats. With her shy demeanor she will need time to adjust to her new people and she will most likely always hide when people come over that she doesn't know. But she is loyal and sweet and a has a big purr!

Jack - adopted
Pawl - available. Pawl is full of energy and enjoys following me around the house and sneaking in cuddles. He enjoys my kids and lets them pick him up, enjoys my dogs, and my own cats. He loves everyone and will eagerly greet strangers/visitors.

Sally - available. Sally is shy to strangers. She will need time to acclimate to her new home. I suggest having her decompress in a room away from pets and kids. But once she comes around she is a bundle of joy and cuddles. She is also the softest out of her siblings and was the runt of the litter (5 kittens). She lets my kids hold her and carry her around and loves ro cuddle with my own cats and enjoys my dogs. Sally does not enjoy new people and will choose to hide when I have company she doesn't know over. But she is very loyal to the humans that care for her so much that she puts up with my little kids.

Kittens are fixed, up to date on shots, dewormed, and microchipped.
These kittens are indoor only and everyone in the home must be in agreement to taking on a pet.
Potential adopters must be 21yr old to apply for adoption.
If you live in a rental home or apartment then proof must be given that cats are allowed.

Adoption is $50 or $85 if adopting a pair.

Sally is still available for adoption. She is initially shy but once she feels safe around you then you get to enjoy so many cuddles and kisses. Her fur is super soft. She also enjoys children and doesn't mind my dogs.
Her adoption fee has been dropped to $50. She has been spayed, shots, and microchipped. She also just received her 2nd round of shots today.

1) Sally is quiet and sweet but don't be fooled she likes to have fun too. Her fur is silky soft.
2) Pawl (all black nose) likes to give kisses even in the middle of the night lol. He'll come up to you and start licking your nose. He loves to play and cuddle.
3) Jack likes to lick your fingers. He comes running for pets, cuddles, and very playful.

Adoption fee is $75
All 3 are fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped. They are good around young children, dogs, and other cats.

So you've decided to rehome or kick out your cat due to allergies?
I'll tell you what, my doctor once told me I either needed to get rid of my cats or find a way to get rid of my allergies and asthma. I couldn't do either. We now have 6 cats and 2 dogs (also allergic) and take on stray/abandoned cats/kittens for fostering. I'm basically congested 24/7 in my own home.
The fosters are hardest on me, as my system isn't use to their dandruff/saliva. One escaped the kennel today so I had to pick him up. So today I broke out in hives, my eyes are crazy itchy, and I'm more congested than normal just from handling him. I had to pop some allergy pills. I should probably start getting the allergy shots too 😅
You should see me when I have to brush out my siamese and dogs 😷🤧 My husband finds it amusing how I put the animals comfort before my own.
Unless I become deathly allergic (as in the allergy causes anaphylaxis shock) then I'll keep living on discomfort with my fur animals lol.

We also have a need for more litter and kitten food as I've have been contacted by different people concerbing abandoned cats, strays, and another batch of kittens that have been found. These resources and donations help a rescue keep running.
Our rescue has been taking steps towards a 501(c)(3). We just completed one of those steps which was getting our LLC approval and we received the letter last week!

Update: took to vet this morning 11/15. NO microchip. KCAS was notified. Kitten needed to he treated for fleas. Also it looks like someone cut off his whiskers on his right side as only 1-2 whiskers are long.

Found kitten at Westfield Park on 11/14. Very friendly. Must give details/pictures on kitten for proof of ownership.

These two floofs mother (stella) and daughter (lilly) are ready for adoption June 10! They are fixed, up to date on shots, microchipped, dewormed, and no fleas. Stella loves to relaxe in your lap and receive pets. Lilly is a bit more wary but enjoys me petting her. Both will let you know when they are done. They both love the company of my cats. Sorry for no recent posts, I had a big surgery recently. Lilly has come a long way and lets me pick her up. It helps that she's in heat, which allows me to get closer to her. They will both be getting fixed soon! Stella is a good sport as always. #cats #rescuecats

Making progress on these 2 fosters. Stella has really warmed up to receiving pets. Lilly is still cautious and it doesn't help that her sister comes running to "protect" her whenever I try to pet her lol.

Meet Garfield and Nermal They were found along with Arlene. Nermal is a huge lover and wants all the pets and scratches you can give him. Garfield was quite feisty when I received him but has been a work in progress. Garfield went from hissing and scratching whoever I came near, then started purring when I sat with then, then allowed me to let him with thick gloves on, and now lets me pet him without gloves. He just requires a slow approach still.

Little miss Arlene She is such a sweetie and would make a great addition to someone's home.
