I was out mowing in the Obstacle Course today, trying to keep ahead of things just a little bit, and it was looking green, clean and pretty. But what makes it look "beautiful" is when visitors come to work and play!
Cathy Clarke came out with her young mustang today! Most everything she did was a "first time" thing for that little mare out there, and it was fun to watch.
I managed to pause mowing a few times to grab some pictures.

20/04/2024

As you know, we host Orientations to give folks the information we need them to have so we can allow them to come use our facility for their own personal use! We set things up so they can come back and enjoy the Obstacle Course on the honor system, 7 days a week during daylight hours - unless they are camping, of course. 😉
One of the things we discuss is that our Obstacle Course is a *Walking* facility. It has Trail Training features, so walking fits the bill for what we are all about.
We also make a point to say, Specifically, that we do Not want people Cantering for several reasons, ONE of which is that it creates HOLES. 🕳 🕳 🕳
Well - Someone was obviously cantering out in the Obstacle Course on April 13 during our first Orientation of 2024.
* Can you guess how we know? 🤔
The pictures that I am sharing here are just a few of the examples, and some of them are rather remarkable!
We will, of course, get them filled so we don't have any future visiting horses or humans ending up with any twisted ankles.
So - to whoever was cantering, please DON'T.
And if you are here visiting and you happen to see someone cantering, please ask them to stop. 🙂
Thank you! 🤠

I do not post personal opinions of current events (political or otherwise) on this page but earlier today I *mistakenly* posted some frustrating info on this page pertaining to the the Red Cross. I realized my mistake and then deleted it. However, someone saw it before I deleted it and sent me a message telling me to confine such posts to my "personal page," and in the process categorized me with a very unflattering adjective.
Because I am a firm believer in my Constitutional rights as an American citizen, including the First Amendment, I am compelled to clearly state that what I do or do not post on any of my pages is totally my choice to make, and I accept the blessings or consequences of those choices.

The weather forecast is LOOKING GOOD for Saturday's Orientation Workshop! *

We've also got the trail across the creek all cleared and ready to go for this year's riding season. The actual crossing has changed a bit since winter, but it is still quite inviting! 🙂

* Persons that have had our Orientation may access our facilities for personal use 7 days a week during daylight hours.

The most important part of the Orientation lasts about 90 minutes, so we would be done with that part by 12:30 or so. Then people can continue to work in hand, or saddle up and spend as much time as they want riding. I will be there for the remainder of the time to be available in a "workshop" capacity. ;)
NO STALLIONS at our organized events, but you may bring them when you come back to access our facilities for personal use. Thank you for your understanding.

Well, it's mowed, so that's a good start for this new season!
There are a few more things to do to get ready for our first Orientation Workshop for 2024, but this puts a dent in our "to do" list!
We're keeping a very close eye on the forecast and will schedule a Workshop as soon as we can find a Saturday with a chance of no rain - ☀️🌤⛅️🌥☁️☀️ 😃
Persons that have had an Orientation are allowed access to our Obstacle Course and related facilities for personal use *as long as they keep their participation and/or visits to our facility current within a 3 year time span. 🤠 Persons that are current with their participations or visits may join us in any future Orientations for the simple cost of the Haul-In fee.
Registration is $50 per person, and Haul-In is $15 per horse.
Be sure to Message us with your email if you would like to be notified when we are able to set up the start-up for this year!
We also post them under our Events tab here on our FB page.
We have plenty of space, so there is no RSVP required and Registration is done upon arrival.
We usually have about 20 participants, sometimes more and sometimes less 😉
And, yes, a horse is required for Orientation. 🙂
Spring is here, and we're looking forward to seeing everyone this coming riding season! 😃

These folks were the first visitors of 2024!
I hope they forgive me for my memory lapse as to what their names are, but I do remember that they own a real estate company! LOL
Maybe they'll see this and fill in the info for me 😁
Looking forward to getting things cleaned up from winter storms and hosting an Orientation on April. 🌤🌥

PLEASE NOTE POLICY CHANGE FOR 2024 :
A new Registration in one of our Orientation Workshops will be required at current registration price if it has been more than 3 years since your last visit to Fire Mountain Trail Course facilities.
This policy change has become necessary due to liabilities and the need to have our visitors "reasonably fresh" in their familiarity of our property for the sake of safety for you and peace of mind for us. 😉
We thank you for your understanding on this matter.
Fee Schedule :
Registration $50 per person (Orientations, Play Days)
Haul-In $15 per horse/per day
(*We are no longer able to accommodate Haul-In for Dogs*)
Persons that have attended our Orientation within the last 3 years, OR have had Orientation farther back in the past AND have since visited Fire Mountain Trail Course within the last 3 years need only pay Haul-In Fee to attend any subsequent Orientations. 🙂
> Please feel free to ask in comments below if you have any questions about this - if you have a question then someone else may have that question, too! 🤔
The facility is "open" and available for personal use 7 days a week during daylight hours for Authorized Persons (re: Orientation & visiting criteria explained above) and therefore have "reasonably fresh" knowledge of our amenities and policies.
Please remember we are a Leave No Trace facility.
We look forward to seeing you ! 🤠
