🤠 No stirrup November!! Who is up for the challenge? 🤠

There are many benefits to doing no stirrups for 5-10 minutes during your lesson! Here are just a few of the reasons we like to do it during lessons.

✨Helps to improve leg aids ✨
Having no stirrups helps to improve the riders length of leg, this then helps to be able to apply a clear leg aid to the horse. With stirrups riders can brace against them and shove the leg forward which makes it difficult to apply the leg aids!

✨ Helps to improve balance ✨
It encourages riders to use their seat and core muscles to correct when they are feeling off balance. Instead of just relying on the stirrups, or worse.. the reins!!

✨ Helps to improve confidence ✨
It’s a great way of feeling more confident especially if riders are prone to loosing stirrups.

✨ Helps to improve rhythm ✨
No stirrups is a great way for the riders to able to start to feel the rhythm, and correct when it changes. Typically in trot as the horse speeds up and slows down riders rise quicker and slower depending on the pace and don't necessarily recognise it straight away. With no stirrups, the rider will feel very quickly the horse starting to accelerate as it may start to get bouncy!

No stirrups is suitable for riders who are looking to improve their balance and position, and only to those who are cantering level, this is to ensure we are looking after our horses backs 🐴

We can also offer this on board our dressage simulator!! 🤩

🐎 Dressage simulator 🐎

Here's just one of the many things you can do on board the dressage simulator!
Personally I find it very beneficial for working on improving my upwards transitions to canter. Being able to maintain correct posture and also to give clear and consistent leg aids 🤩

Today we had the wonderful Nina from NB Saddlers- Master Saddler and Qualified Saddle Fitter visting us to make sure the ponies saddles are continuing to fit well!

It's so important keeping up with regular visits from specialists to ensure the ponies are happy and comfortable to do their work 🤩

Also big thanks to Alisha for being top jockey riding the ponies for their fittings 😁

Days like today are the best 🤩

I had a fabulous lesson on Joey with Tyler Bradshaw today! Getting ourselves ready to start competing BD in the next couple of months 🤞😁

Also with Tyler being a Grand Prix dressage rider we had to get her on board our new Racewood Limited dressage simulator to see what she thought!
She put the horse through it's paces and said the aids are realistic to riding an actual horse even the advanced dressage moves 🥳
But also how much fun it is to ride 🤩
