Big Sky Kennels -Golden Retrievers We raise beautiful Goldens for companions, therapy, hunting and sport. Messages us for adoption information.

Our dogs make wonderful companions and are easy to train and willing to please. Our Golden retrievers have excelled at therapy, scent training and hunting and are great family dogs. They are raised here on the ranch with lots of room to run and play. They range in color from a dark red gold to light golden, and have straight medium coats or semi curly coats, depending on the puppy.

This litter, while being special to me, was also something I never planned. Rowan was definitely retired and when I realized this had happened I considered every option for her health. For years she and Zelda have been on the same exact heat cycle. So knowing Zelda was in heat, Rowan was kept away from Link. Obviously she was actually 2 weeks later than Zelda. All visual checks were done and Link didn’t act interested in her at all. So I figured all was clear and let them be out together again.
By the time this was apparent it was too risky to terminate (which could have been an option if Rowan’s safety was compromised.) however because she is in such great shape it was decided to let her go ahead and be prepared for any complications. She whelped easily and absolutely no issues and has had a good recovery after. She absolutely loves these babies! Six perfect little fat pups who are strong and healthy. As a breeder I believe in being honest when I mess up -and I did. I should have had her fixed earlier and I let my busy schedule get in the way, and my anxiety about anesthesia. I love all my dogs but Rowan is my favorite ( shh, don’t tell all the others) she’s a heart dog for me. She’s most like her dad Kasey in so many ways. So while I will cherish these sweet pups I know that as a breeder I messed up and it could have been much more serious. Lesson learned.

We ALL (17) puppies went to the vet today for our wellness checks. Everyone got a clean bill of health and our shots. ❤️
Mom and Shaelie were not impressed with our noise level or the tearing up of our puppy pads on the way! 😁
