Aujourd'hui, c'est notre journée spécial, j'espère qu'on va jouer à la b***e ce soir et à la corde :)
Today is a holiday for many Canadians: Family Day, Islander Day, Louis Riel Day, NS Heritage Day. But one holiday tops them all. Today is Boston Terrier Day! So it’s only fitting to celebrate one of the earliest chapters in the breed’s long and glorious history.
One of the most revered animals in ancient Egypt, the Boston Terrier was considered sacred by the pharaohs.
Believed to be the earthly manifestation of the god Treatus, Boston Terriers are frequently depicted in Egyptian artwork and hieroglyphics. Cleopatra, in particular, was said to have a great fondness for the breed and her Boston Terriers, adorned with jewellery and embellishments, were often seen accompanying her on her travels. The Egyptians also believed the Boston Terrier possessed magical powers that originated from their mesmerizing stink-eye and so showered them with gifts, like squeaky toys made of fine linen and decorative pottery vessels filled with snacks, to gain their favour.
Today’s Boston Terrier lives much the same way as did their ancient ancestor. They continue to be worshipped, pampered, featured in works of art, and are still powerful beings that capture our hearts. 😉❤️🐾

P.S. OK, we know that the Boston Terrier originated in the US and was granted recognition by the American Kennel Club in 1893. But this story is much more fitting, don’t you think?
