When we say that it is a "Puppy Palooza at PAWS," we aren't kidding. We need your help! We have another litter of puppies who need fosters. There are four male, and four female, and they are mixes of German and Dutch Shepherd and Lab and Chesapeake Bay Retriever. They were born October 23rd. We have two little girls who need a foster or adopters. They were:

Father Full Black Labrador
Mother Half Chocolate Labrador half red German Pointer
Both Female
Both received first Vaccinations

These two puppies are Hank and Diva. A gentleman said that they started following him when he was on a walk, and he went door to door for an hour asking if anyone knew these puppies. Then, a kind woman took over puppy care duty and has been looking for several days to see if they have owners. We could be wrong, but we are assuming these poor babies were possibly dumped 💔 We have a full, full shelter, and are looking for fosters for these babies. The kind woman who has been keeping them needs to leave town, so we need a place for these puppies to stay, PLEASE let us know if you can help. Thank you! PLEASE SHARE

A HAPPY PUP-DATE! Luna has been humanely trapped and is safe!

MISSING Female Chihuahua named Luna. An RV wrecked on Shortmile Road on the reservation outside of Pendleton, Oregon, on 1-4-2025, and this dog escaped. If you see a loose small dog near the area, please call Animal Control Officer Kendyl Dejong at 541-215-7082. Please share 💔🐾

Update from Lexie Mentzer: The dog did not have a microchip and no one has come forward to claim her, so Andrew Mentzer is burying her out at our ranch property. Run free, young girl. People did care about you 💕

SAD POST: There was a young, female Great Pyrenees with no collar deceased off to the left side in the median on Eastbound I-84 just before exit 193. Kind citizens have picked up her body and are looking for her owner.

We are very sorry for this loss 💔

Let's talk about some PAWSitive New Year's Resolutions that could help PAWS! One of our board members is going to start a money jar and put in $1 for each mile she runs this year and donate it to PAWS!

You might want to commit to sorting your redeemable cans and bottles and bringing them to PAWS once a week so they don't pile up or committing to volunteer as a family! 💗🐾

We'd LOVE to hear your ideas for fun fundraisers we could do, ways that you would like to make PAWS a part of your family's life, and any other ideas you can think of to make this 2025 more PAWSitive for all of us!

We need a medical foster for a very special boy! On December 6th Baloo was hit by a car. He had serious injuries and needed to be hospitalized. Now, he is ready to be discharged from the hospital, but we need a safe place for him to go. Here are the details:

He will need a suture removal in ~10 days. His pelvis is still healing, so he needs to take it easy: leash walks, no playing or running yet. If you foster Baloo, he will need to be kept calm and still. No running or jumping. Only leashed walks outdoors to potty.

He is very sweet with people who know him but growls and is scared with new people. We will need a foster who is experienced with scared dogs and knows how to gain their trust. Baloo prefers the company of WOMEN and seems to be more scared of men.

He’s already neutered and and has received distemper/parvo and rabies vaccinations.
