My beautiful Bobby as photographed by me in the Bluebells, our favourite spot to sit and listen to the birdsong. David had it professionally printed and mounted for my birthday today so now he is looking down on us forever. His ashes are scattered there, absolutely stunning 😍😍😍

Bobby’s poppyseeds given to us by our Vet alongside his ashes are beginning to bloom. Poignant reminder of our beautiful boy who we love and miss so very much 💔💔

Bobby’s final walk. We laid him to rest some of his ashes scattered in his favourite Bluebell spot and his own dipping pond that he loved so very much. Always in our hearts 💔💔💔🌈🌈

Bobby is home where he belongs always with us. Everything done so very thoughtfully. We want to thank our lovely friends who brought cards and flowers you know who you are. I will take him on a couple of his favourite walks soon and also sow the Poppy seeds in his garden. 💔💔🌈🌈 always in our broken hearts 💔

Bobby went peacefully today and is now free from pain and at the Rainbow Bridge 🌈🌈 He was so calm and we stayed with him all the way, the Vet even allowed him to take his favourite toy to be cremated alongside him. Waiting for the day when I take his ashes on our last walk together. Thank you for all your good wishes. Linda and David 💔💔💔

My beautiful Bobby will be crossing the rainbow bridge on Wednesday. He has not been himself for a while and we are devastated to say the dreaded big C finally and swiftly caught up with him. Heartbroken, totally shocked this is happening I cannot bear this I really don’t know how I can say goodbye to him. All he has ever given us is love, trust and total devotion, the least we can do is stay with him to the very end.❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹💔💔💔
Bear with me please as I will not be making any comments on here for a while. Send him your love and thoughts as I know he brought you all so much joy with his tales. He is only 11 it’s so unfair. Remember him with love and keep a little bit of him in your hearts.

The Lake was extremely busy today as it is Mothers Day so Linda decided we were going to go over to Birchinley for a lovely walk. At times the Sun broke through but it was mainly cloudy. At least it was dry and quite mild. I like it over there as there are lots of fields and paths to explore. It was a bit wet and boggy in places but we know which paths to follow. Once at the top the views really are fantastic. Blackstone Edge and the Lake then Watergrove and right over to Edenfield and Knowl Hill. A lot of where we once walked is now fenced off as work has commenced on the groundwork, see our short video, which will eventually provide an estate called Wildhouse Meadows built by Lancet Homes, which will have a selection of houses for sale. It is a brown fill site and will look lovely once completed. At least it’s not on green belt as a lot of housing is going to built be in the future, it is very worrying as all around us the landscape is going to change and not for the better.
We had a sit when the Sun came out but it did not stay long enough unfortunately so we carried on where I had a short play with a friendly French Bulldog. I then did a bit of grass arrangement followed by a nice roll before we set off back across the fields. A very nice Mother’s Day for Linda as she had lovely gifts from her Sons and later she is going to have a lovely Lamb Karahi curry to finish off a very nice day 😍

Linda has now got me watching her on mugs and coasters. A gift from a pal. She says they are far too nice to use so they shall be for display only 😍🤣

What a beautiful day today, such a refreshing change from the dull weather of late. We took ourselves off down the canal and over the bridge that took us to Ealees. We saw our friend Jacqui driving down the lane and she stopped and had a natter with Linda. I was ready for a nice walk so we said bye bye and carried on. I soon took myself off and Linda knew exactly where to find me and of course she was right. I had made my way to my favourite place and was already in the brook. It was very chilly so I didn’t linger very long.
The lane and the path were quite muddy in places so I kept going in and out of the brook for a paddle.
It was really good to have a charge about and at times the Sun felt really warm on our backs. Another couple of weeks the clocks go forward and we cannot wait.
We really enjoyed our walk today, I got a bit dirty so we did a detour to the back of the Lake where I cleaned up before we headed home for some lunch. We don’t know whether the forecast is correct but they keep saying snow is coming on Thursday. We shall see.

Hello there. Sorry we haven’t updated our page, we are both well and have been out and about but most places you have seen so many times.
Today it has been very dull and chilly so Linda put her layers on and we took a walk by the Canal doing the Smithybridge to Belfield bridge stretch for a change.
Still a bit too chilly for any proper signs of Spring, the Geese and various bird life are busy pairing up, we even saw a beautiful pair of Swans 🦢 today. They are so lovely and I have to be quiet around them.
We kept moving as even with her layers on Linda felt quite chilly today .
We saw that a little bit more of the embankment has fallen into the water so it will be in need of repair later this year. The original stone is still there ready to be used when the weather improves.
Tomorrow is March 1st St David’s Day no great changes in the forecast but if it stays dry we shall not complain. Love Bobby and Linda 😘😘

The Sun earlier disappeared as we made our way over to Birchinley with the intention of walking over Bib Knowl then down to the Lake. Unfortunately I still cannot jump like I used to do so Linda could not get me over the wall and did not risk me hurting my back so we gave up. I have to stay downstairs at night now as sometimes I struggle on the stairs and Linda won’t risk me falling so now I sleep in the living room. Oh the joys of ageing 😞
We still had a good time and I can chase bunnies still so my life is still adventurous, I even flushed a Pheasant out today and it shouted at me 🤣🤣
Not many photos as it went quite dull but at least we had a lovely walk and it was that warm Linda even took one of her layers off 😍

Today I am eleven years old. I have gone from being neglected and starved to blossom into the dog I am now. I love my life with Linda and David and although I am slowing down a bit I still enjoy our walks and can chase Bunnies 🐰 and Squirrels 🐿️ with exuberance. I have a feeling I may get a treat or two later on 🥳🥳🎂🎂

Another lovely day, quite chilly and breezy but under her layers Linda was toasty. We stayed by the Canal to keep me clean and took our time. The butchers who call themselves groundworkers have been out in force chopping and hacking at the hedges, they have even torn out all the beautiful Campanula that grows up the wall at Ealees bridge. It is beautiful in the summer flowering over the entire wall and now it is gone 😡😡
The breeze was quite brisk around Linda’s ears so we did not linger too long just kept moving.
Sadly there was another dead Canada Goose in the water and there has been a serious outbreak at Heywood park with lots of dead and dying birds. Considering how close it is we won’t be surprised if it spreads over here.
The population on our stretch were still very active today and the lone Swan is still staying around, fingers crossed it does not catch anything.
We left the towpath so I could have a nice run in the fields and hunt for moles. In a few weeks the birds will be nesting and hopefully the insects will return once more, at least we are going in the right direction.

Glorious day today so I had a very special treat and Linda took me to the Lake. It’s on days like these that makes you happy to be able to still walk and enjoy the glorious countryside, unfortunately our happy mood didn’t pass on to a lot of people walking. It cost’s nothing to say hello or acknowledge us let alone give eye contact and a smile there were a few miseries out and about today 🤣🤣
We carried on and I was in the water in no time and was joined by a lovely Spaniel called Bailey, he was not as boisterous as me and would not come in the water.
We carried on round to look for Squirrels but did not see any at all today.
It felt really nice to be up at the Lake, we took our time stopping so I could have a paddle or two and Linda to take some photos.
We ended up at the brook so I could get cleaned up before home and we met another lovely dog. He is called Douglas and is only a youngster. He had a traumatic start in life as he had a badly broken leg and at first the vet thought it would have to be amputated, hence the name Douglas after Douglas Bader. However with an operation and weeks of crate rest he is recovering well and learning how to be a puppy. He has a good home now as he belongs to one of David’s friends who adopted him.
We had a cracking walk today I had a smashing time.

The first dry day all week. Hunting for Squirrels 🐿️ but they were hiding today. A few photographs to follow. Glorious weather.

Goosander pair, they were being harassed by another Male. Further along the Canal we came across a group of 3 Males and 1 Female
We got home before the wind grew stronger. Had my dinner and I think I shall have a little snooze now 💤💤💜
I don’t care about the wind, in fact it makes me very giddy indeed 🤣🤣😍

Look who was in a familiar spot on our walk today. So very close to us. Only a short clip but I will have to bring mealworms from now on when we pass this spot. Cheeky little Robin ❤️❤️
