Equine Irrigator Keep your horse's wounds clean and sanitary with the Equine Irrigator, an easy-to-use, one-handed solution for wound cleansing.

When your horse is injured, the stakes are high. Even small wounds can have devastating consequences if they’re not treated with the proper care, and cleaning a horse’s injury can be a difficult task. In addition to the worry you may be feeling about your animal, there are a lot of things going on that you have to keep track of, and let’s face it, you only have two hands. Mixing up lavage fluid, r

insing out the wound and repeatedly refilling a syringe while keeping a fidgety, hurt horse calm can feel overwhelming. Equine Irrigator was created to help make this challenging task easier, by giving you a sterile, continuous-use, one-handed solution for keeping your horse’s wound clean throughout recovery. That’s what makes this product great, and why we believe no barn’s first-aid kit is complete without it.

Sad news, friends. There's been an outbreak of monensin poisoning in California (and possibly Arizona), likely due to horses ingesting feed that mistakenly contained monensin. The manufacturer, Western Mills, has issued a product recall on the batch, but several horses were lost due to the issue.

Monensin is an ionophore that improves feed efficiency in cattle and can be found in premix formulas. Monensin is highly poisonous to horses and affects the heart and skeletal muscles. The level of toxicity is dose and individual dependent.

Please check out the article below for more information on the recall.

Lab results confirm the deaths of three California horses were caused by monensin toxicity. The horses died last week at Katie Flanigan’s Black Fence Farm, where 40 horses in total consumed the allegedly tainted feed produced by Western Milling.
