Looking for your very own lion king? Then check out Simba, an 8-year old, 8-pound Chihuahua mix who looks amazingly young for his age and is sooooo stinkin’ cute!

In typical Chi fashion, Simba needs a bit of time to warm up to strangers. The ‘lil bu**er can play hard-to-get at first, but once he knows you, you’ve got friend for life…and an extremely loyal one! He’s lovely around other dogs and cats, and eagerly greets pups while outside taking his walks. Simba gets excited whenever it’s time to go out, he’s terrific on a leash, and he’s got a lotta pep in his step, wagging his tail from side to side, literally smiling the whole way through.

Simba is very affectionate and will seek pets from those he is familiar with. He likes to be as close to his human(s) as possible, as often as he can be. He can be a bit particular about where you pet him and for how long, but he’s an easy read and will let you know if he’s at all displeased. For the most part, he soaks up love and attention like a sponge, and luxuriates in the tenderness of your touch.

Extremely treat-motivated, Simba will do almost anything for a piece of chicken jerky. It comes in handy when you need him to go to his crate or distract his from something he shouldn’t be doing. Simba is essentially potty trained, but he has been known to occasionally mark inside the home if he isn’t taken out frequently enough. Likewise, he may do the same thing while visiting establishments or other people’s homes, but a belly band works like a charm. And it’s nooooo big deal!

But for a few minor quirks, Simba is a very loving, sweet, mellow munchkin who will brighten your day from the second you wake up til the minute you go to bed. He always gives the absolute best greetings everrrrr and you’ll never feel lonely with this foxy fella by your side.

Looking for a 21-pound lap dog? Then feast your eyes on sweet Lily, a 7-year old Poodle/Terrier mix who is the snuggliest sweetest dog you might ever meet!

Housebroken, pad trained, and awesome on a leash, Lily is pure perfection in the bathroom department. She loves going for walks and she’s 100% well-behaved in stores and restaurants. She is lovely around humans, she’s fond of other dogs, and she loves running errands. Talk about a phenomenal sidekick!

Lily is all about being pet, getting belly rubs, and being massaged. She will usually fall asleep the second you pick her up and put her on your lap. Being close to you is when Lily is at her most comfortable. She has been working on commands and gets extra excited to show you her tricks if cheese is involved. So far, Lily knows come, stay, sit and paw…and is capable of learning lots more.

A people-oriented love bug, this goofy and delightful pooch would be a welcome addition to any human(s) willing to give Lily the time, love, affection, and attention she so desperately deserves. If Velcro dogs are your thing, Lily will stick to you like glue!

Meet Zeal! 🐾

This stunning girl is Zeal, an 11-month-old Shepherd/Collie mix who’s as gentle as she is beautiful. Petite at 24 lbs, she’s tall but light, with the softest fur, coyote-like looks, and soulful eyes lined in perfect black eyeliner.

Zeal is a total lovebug who adores her people and just wants to be loved in return. She’s known for giving the sweetest hugs and leaning her head right into you for extra snuggles. 💛

🐶 Great with dogs of all sizes
👧 Gentle with the 2 kids in her foster home
🎓 Crate-trained and knows “sit” and “down” (eager to learn for treats!)
🧸 Loves playing with toys and romping around the yard

B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, and Bingo was his name-oh! Introducing Bingo, a 12-year old, 16-pound Shih Tzu mix who’ll have you smiling and humming that tune all day long!

Cute as a button, Bingo is still quite the charmer in the looks department. He can barely see a thing, but that doesn’t stop him from maneuvering around familiar areas, enjoying a leisurely stroll outside, or cuddling up next to someone special. He adores all humans regardless of age or gender, and has no issue around other dogs. Although he hasn’t been officially cat tested, Bingo would likely be just as mellow around felines, too.

Bingo is not much into toys or doggie treats, but he absolutely lovvvvves food and will bark to remind you whenever its mealtime. He needs daily eye drops for dry eye, but it’s VERY easy to administer them. Bingo doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and he lets you touch him anywhere and/or do whatever else is necessary. He’s simply grateful to be cared for, and he soaks up love like a sponge.

Relaxed and easy-going, Bingo is happy to spend most of his day lounging in his dog bed or snuggling on the sofa. He is not exactly housebroken, but he easily wears a belly band without ever making a fuss, so that takes care of that!

If you have a soft spot for senior dogs, Bingo is the sweetest chillest old fella you’ll ever come to know. What a gift it would be to offer this merry ‘lil muppet a safe, loving retirement home.

Say hello to Enigma, a kind, gentle, chill, affectionate sweetheart, who is actually nothing like her namesake. This 4-year old, 66-pound Box mix loves everyone and everything and isn’t shy about letting her feelings known. She has interacted with kids as young as two years old and has been utterly amazing with them.

With human-like facial characteristics, it’s easy to forget Enigma is a dog. She enjoys car rides, she loves Starbucks, she likes toys, she appreciates treats, but most of all, she loves snuggles and cuddles. Yep, this angel is a love machine who likes being tucked in under a blanket at bedtime!

Enigma is perfect on a leash and eager to go for walks. In no time flat, she’s learned sit, come, and no. Clever and attentive, if you tell her something once, she responds positively and remembers it. She’s even managed to pull down a gate with her snout…not to get into mischief but just for a little fun! The girl’s a whiz kid!

Housebroken and well-behaved in the house, you’ll never have to worry about Enigma soiling the rugs or leaving her alone. She likes to spend time gathering up her toys and making piles in her dog bed. She’s particularly fond of squeaky toys, balls, and plushies, and while she loves to mess around with them, surprisingly she never tears anything apart.

Enigma is a dream come true and anyone who adopts her will be in for the treat of a lifetime.

With the holidays around the corner, we know it’s a busy time, but if you’re staying in town and can offer a pup a place to crash, it would mean the world. These pups are arriving next Saturday, 12/21, and all come fully vetted and are good with other dogs!

Volbeat has it all: Good looks, tons of spirit, lots of brain power, and the ability to chill. This 3-month old, 15-pound Boxer/Hound mix is an exceptional blend of everything you’d ever want in a handsome young pup…and THEN some!

An ultimate love bug, Volbeat is a super sweet fella who doesn’t have a mean bone in his furry little body. He’s affectionate to the max and no amount of cuddling, petting, or snuggling is too much for him. He adores all humans, young and old, and he’s terrific with other dogs. He is playful and upbeat, and never met a toy he didn’t like. He also has the ability to self-entertain, which is quite remarkable for a dog so young.

Volbeat is making fantastic progress in the housebreaking department, and in between outdoor walks, he’s becoming more reliable in his use of the wee-wee pads. He enjoys being outside, loud sounds don’t seem to startle him, and he is rather well-mannered on a leash, especially for such a beginner! Volbeat sits on command, he’s treat-motivated, and he is eager to keep learning.

Friendly, warm, funny, and curious, Volbeat is VERY easy to fall in love with. He is a gorgeous sugar baby with a joyful heart and a tender soul…and he can be all YOURS!

Hi, my name is River!
I just came up from rural Tennessee to find my forever home! I’ve heard New Yorkers are the best : )

A little about me
I’m a 10-11 month Catahoula mix and i’m only 37 pounds—a perfect medium-size me!
I’m super sweet, curious, chill, very loving...and quiet! I never bark! I’m great with other dogs of all sizes, including my foster brother. And I love kids, too, including my human foster sister. My foster mom calls me a sweet mush which i’ll take as a compliment, thank you.

I’m house trained and i already know “sit!”. My foster mom is working on “down” and so far so good.

Because i wasn’t around many people in Tennessee, i’m a little shy at first but within an hour, i was already plopped at my foster family’s feet. The sights, sounds and smells of the City sometimes make me nervous but i’m confidently walking up to Prospect Park and enjoying all my walks around the neighborhood with my foster brother.

My foster mom says i’d be a great companion for literally anyone - single, family, with or without other dogs. I don’t know how i am with cats as i don’t live with one right now.

Everybody’s ravin’ over Raven! This 1.5 year old, 37-pound Mountain Cur mix is happy, healthy, sweet, and housebroken! And she’s very easy on the eyes too!

Playful and active, Raven is an enthusiastic walker and does well on a leash. She enjoys visits to the park where she has room to run and a chance to meet other dogs. At home, Raven likes to rummage through her toy box and mess around with balls, ropes, chewies, plushies, and anything with a squeaker. Raven also has a very mellow side, and is often happy to just curl up in her bed and amuse herself, or better yet, join you on the couch for some cuddle time.

Raven is initially a bit shy with strangers, but quickly warms up once she knows it’s safe to do so. Once you’re a friend, you’re a friend for life. She eagerly accepts pets from her head to toe…with belly rubs being an all-time favorite. She will even paw you to convince you to keep rubbing her, dare you try and stop! ;-)

Treat motivated and attentive, Raven responds to the commands sit and is capable of leaning much more. She is well-behaved when left alone, she travels with ease, and she doesn’t seem to be much of a barker. Raven has a very gentle mouth and allows you to take both food and toys away from her without a problem. And she gives the softest, most tender kisses imaginable! Awwwww!

Raven doesn’t love loud noises, but as she continues to develop more confidence, you can see her fears just melt way. A petite beauty, Raven is an amazing dog who will thrive in a home, with or without another dog, as long as there is plenty of love to go around!

Meet Makue – Your New Best Friend! 🐾

Aloha! My name is Makue (pronounced Mah-ku-eh), and I’m a 1 year, 8-month-old, 50-pound Catahoula mix with a stunning coat and mesmerizing eyes. My journey began in Kauai, where I was found as a stray and taken to the Kauai Humane Society. Thanks to some kind people, I made my way to PupStarz Rescue in New York, where I’m now searching for my forever home!

I’m a total sweetheart who loves humans—on our first meeting, I’ll probably try to sit on your lap and snuggle up to you. I’m currently living with two foster dog sisters, and I get along well with them, but I’d also be happy as an only dog since I LOVE human attention. I’m a true velcro dog and want to be by your side (or on your lap!) at all times.

I request a home with no cats, small dogs or small animals. I’m not food aggressive, and I’m perfectly fine with humans brushing my teeth or giving me pets. d.

I’m still learning leash manners because I get so excited and tend to pull, but I’m improving every day!

What a showstopper this girl is! Introducing Soundgarden, a 2-year old, 46-pound Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who is energetic without being hyper, affectionate without being clingy, and gorgeous without being conceited! ;-)

Soundgarden loves all living creatures, including kids, cats, and dogs. She does especially well around other canines and loves having a pooch pal to play and run around with. An outdoorsy gal, Soundgarden enjoys going for walks and also really likes being able to wander about freely in a fenced-in yard. Being a true hound, her nose is always to the ground, working overtime! Sniff sniff sniff! Oh, what interesting smells there are out there!

Soundgarden is 100% housebroken and very well-behaved inside the home, but for occasionally stealing a sneaker or a slipper. The stinkier the better! She only knows a couple of commands so far, and she isn’t terribly food motivated, but Soundgarden is a fabulous listener who is eager to please. A good sharer and considerate of others, Soundgarden doesn’t beg for scraps and she eats peacefully alongside other dogs. You can touch her anywhere and/or take away anything you don’t want t her to have, and she doesn’t react at all. Her eyes say it all: Okay, I’m all yours and you’re the boss!

Curious, kind, and youthful, Soundgarden is a spirited young pup with a lotta love in her heart. Between her amazing good looks and her equally amazing personality, you can’t go wrong with this floppy-eared fur baby!
