Meet Smokey – Help Us Give Him a Second Chance!

Smokey is one of our newest rescues, a sweet and loving guy who came into our care just a week and a half ago. Unfortunately, he needed emergency IVDD surgery, which was unexpected—but absolutely necessary to give him the best chance at a happy, pain-free life.

He is healing well, but his road to recovery is far from over. With many ongoing medical expenses, we’re asking for your help to cover Smokey’s surgery so we can continue saying YES to dogs like him who need urgent care.

Give a warm welcome to Prodigy, a 3-year old, 38-pound Beagle/Boxer mix who is extremely affectionate and friendly with humans of all shapes and sizes. Wanna pet him all day long? He’d absolutely love it!

Prodigy is a minimal shedder and an infrequent barker. He really enjoys the outdoors, but this country mouse isn’t a big fan of loud noises. He’s house-trained and he’s making progress with his leash manners. Prodigy travels well and is probably the type of dog who would love to run errands with you. And what a cutie-potutie to have by your side!

A toy maniac, Prodigy likes to chew on his squeakies and play fetch with a ball. He runs around with his toys at lightning speed, and he gets so excited, he sometimes looks like a bucking horse! He tries to bury sticks, even when there’s nothing to bury them with, and at times, he rolls around on his back while on the floor, as if he’s trying to give himself a deep tissue massage. What a goof ball!

Prodigy is opening up more and more with each passing day. Prodigy is discovering the beauty of love and the power of trust. With a little time and patience, coupled with a bit more training, Prodigy will be the amazing dog he was always destined to be. And you will feel so lucky to have given him his forever home.

If you’re looking for a senior dog who still has s***k and welcomes adventure - - but is also a couch potato when you’re at home - - then Nugget is your girl! This 10-year old, 55-pound Lab/Shepherd mix is sweet, loving, smart, and absolutely precious! And she’s 100% ready for YOU!

Fully housebroken and excellent at communicating when she needs to go out, Nugget has a predictable bathroom routine and never goes in the house. She is fine being left alone and not at all destructive inside the home. If you’re working from home, she will chill and snooze in her bed while you’re at your desk. When you pull out her leash to go for a walk, she’s right there, ready to go with you. She struts her stuff like a queen and has impeccable manners while out and about, never yanking at the leash or pulling to sniff at something, as well as being unfazed by strangers, other dogs, and city traffic. Way to go, Nugget!

Friendly to everyone, Nugget is lovely around humans, dogs, and likely cats too. Gentle and mellow, Nugget loves attention and affection, without being demanding. She is quite the chow hound, gobbling up treats and meals with enthusiasm and gusto. Nugget responds to the commands sit and place, and with additional training, she’s capable of learning many more words…especially if food is the reward.

Nugget is a beautiful love machine who deserves only the best. This mature lady doesn’t ask for much and appreciates absolute everything. One thing’s for sure: She’s guaranteed to love you to the moon and back.

RIP to our Reindeer

We rescued Reindeer in late 2023 from a large hoarding case. Out of all the dogs we took in, he was in the worst shape—but his resilience and personality shined through.

Thanks to his incredible adopters, Reindeer spent the best last year and a half of his life surrounded by love. At 14 years old, he truly thrived—making unexpected friendships, like with his family’s rescued guinea pig, who always chose to sleep in his bed. He loved to snuggle, no matter who it was.

Run free, sweet Reindeer. You were so loved.

If you are in the market for a sweet, handsome exercise buddy, then Kinston would like to apply for the job! This 2-year old, 42-pound Cattle Dog/Labrador Retriever mix is full of fun, and full of love!

Kinston enjoys long walks, runs, hikes, and large enclosed spaces for romping and roaming. This happy-go-lucky fella loves to play with other dogs - - even grouchy ones. Kinston adores all forms of human life, from small kids to the elderly, and he’s friendly toward everyone.

Smart and obedient, Kinston responds to the commands sit and wait, and can be redirected whenever he, for example, starts to shred a plush toy or puts a slipper in his mouth. Kinston patiently sits and waits for his food at mealtime, he takes treats with a gentle mouth, and he quietly obliges while being leashed up for a walk. Kinston is 100% housebroken, he’s crate trained, he’s well-mannered on a leash, and he’s thrilled whenever outdoors. What a fine young gentleman he is!

Kinston loves being pet, and his fur is sensational to stroke. He’s snuggly and cuddly, but not in an over-the-top sort of way. He enjoys sleeping beside you or flopping down with you on the couch. Kinston is respectful of your space and very good at picking up cues. Even though Kinston possesses a few funny, puppyish tendencies, he’s an amazing dog who strives to do right! Don’t let this dude pass you by. Kinston is a dream come true for any active person or family looking to welcome a fabulous furry addition into their household.

Tokyo is is 2-month old, 6-pound Labrador Retriever/Terrier pup who will knock your socks off with his charm and beauty!

Tokyo is still too young to go outside for walks, but he’s pad trained, treat motivated, and he loves receiving praise and pets. Attentive and intelligent, Tokyo will be an easily trainable subject! He travels well, he’s a fabulous sharer, and he’s not much of a barker, appearing to be more on the quiet side for a pup his age.

Friendly and affectionate, Tokyo gets along fabulously with humans, dogs, and cats. He loves toy, he’s full or curiosity, and he knows how to have fun. After a full day of play, Tokyo lovvvves to cuddle up to his people. You can touch him anywhere and he just soaks up love like a sponge. Gave a warm welcome to Winston, a handsome 1-year-old gray-and-white kitty who is over-the-top playful, particularly with other cats, all of whom he worships and adores.

A bit shy with humans, Winston needs some time to build trust, but you can see him opening up more and more, with each passing day. When Winston is resting and unafraid, his sweetness shines right through, and he enjoys being pet, scratched, and massaged. A beautiful soul, this fella is kind, gentle, tender, and a seeker of peace. He really just wants to be loved.

Winston’s favorite toys include mice, wands, shoelaces, and anything with cat nip. This acrocbat…or rather acroCAT…is lean, graceful, and thoroughly entertaining to watch. Oh Suzi Q, Oh Suzi Q, Baby I love you! You’ll be humming that lyric all day long once you bond with sweet Suzi. This 3-year old, 52-pound Treeing Walker Coonhound mix is the queen of cuddles and she lovvvves being pet, massaged, and rubbed all over.

Fully housebroken, you’ll have no concerns about Suzi’s bathroom habits. She is comfortable on a leash and she does all her business outside. At home, she likes to frolic in the backyard, particularly if she’s got another dog to play with. She doesn’t show much interest in toys yet, but she will never refuse a treat or a table scrap!

Initially shy, Suzi needs a few minutes to warm up to unfamiliar people, especially males, but once she does, you’re a forever friend. Loud noises and sudden movements tend to startle Suzi, but she never acts out aggressively. Generally calm and quiet, Suzi is as gentle as they come, and her kind soul is ever present. She just needs a little reassurance that her world is safe.

Suzi travels well, she shares her possessions with ease, and she rarely barks. She is still coming out of her shell, but once fully emerged, it’s obvious Suzi is going to continue to blossom and shine. Young and healthy, Suzi is the type of dog who will enjoy outdoor adventures, camping trips, and hiking in the woods. This beautiful girl has what it takes to be a great family pet. All she needs is YOU to make her wish come true!

Big Thief, an utterly adorable 3-month old, 8-pound Chihuahua/Terrier mix, is not exactly big…so perhaps the name Thief is better suited for this funny ‘lil fella!

Thief is all about fun and games. He loves toys, romping around with other dogs, playing with humans, or simply amusing himself in some way. He interacts well with people of all ages, including young kids. He is soft and cuddly, and will oftentimes jump onto the laps of whose whom he loves and cherishes to either be pet, snuggle, or take a snooze.

Treat motivated, smart, and eager to please, Thief has a hearty appetite and pays close attention whenever he smells and/or sees food. So far, he is pad trained, crate trained, and is starting to respond to a few basic commands, including sit and stay. Thief enjoys being outdoors, he walks well on a leash, and he is relaxed while traveling in a car. What a cute co-pilot he’d make!

Thief is an all-around amazing young pup with a hearty appetite of gold and oodles of potential. Oh, and one of his best features? He sleeps through the night in his crate and doesn’t make a peep until it’s time to wake up the next morning! Way to go, Thief!

Joni wears clothes very well! This former super model is a 7-year old, 32-pound Cattle Dog/ Heeler/Terrier mix who may have a few gray hairs, but is as playful and energetic as a dog half her age. Friendly and welcoming to all, Joni is lovely around humans and dogs alike.

Joni lovvvves going for walks and appreciates being taken out several times a day so she can get all her steps in. At home, Joni is pretty mellow, especially if she has a chew toy or a puzzle to with which to entertain herself. She’s also very content simply hanging out on the couch with her humans…and positioning herself as close to them as possible…like practically leaning right into them! It’s so sweet! It should come as no surprise, this little love bug is a big fan of having her face and head stroked too.

Treat motivated and eager to please, Joni is housebroken, crate trained, and well-behaved on a leash. She is working on the command sit, and is surely capable of learning more with a little bit of practice.

Joni is super easy-going and would do well in almost any type of setting. She seems to really enjoy playing with other dogs, so another dog in the home would be an added bonus.
She is a true sweetheart and will make her new family very VERY happy!

Meet Patches!

Patches is a stunning 6-month-old, 7 lb (as of 2/3) long-haired calico with the softest fur and the sweetest personality to match. Don’t let her striking markings fool you—this girl is all love! She’s a snuggly, affectionate kitten who adores being petted and will happily curl up in your lap for cuddles.

Playful and full of energy, Patches loves playing with toys and gets along well with other cats. She warmed up to her foster in less than 10 minutes, and her confidence is growing by the day. She’s always on the lookout for affection and will make sure you know just how much she loves you.

It should be illegal to be this cute! Say hello to Baby Sugar, a 2-year old, 23-pound Chihuahua/Terrier mix who will have you smiling the moment you set eyes on her. This little angel wants nothing more than to be loved and lead a chill life. And boy, she surely deserves that!

Low-key and quiet, Sugar Baby is starting to come out of her shell and show off her playful side. She goes crazy for plush toys and will cuddle with them at night while at rest or asleep in her crate. She enjoys going for walks, she’s 100% housebroken, and she’s getting much better on a leash. She loves to observe people walking around, and she likes taking in all the interesting aromas. She sheds minimally snd barks infrequently. And she doesn’t mind putting on fun doggy clothes when it’s cold outside!

Sugar Baby gets along well with humans of all ages, including kids, as well as other dogs. She absolutely loves being pet and will literally flop over when she wants a massage or a belly rub. She is a go-with-the-flow kind of gal, in that she can hang out quietly just as easily as she can engage in playtime with a person or another pooch. Easy peasy!

Sugar Baby is an absolute sweetheart who deserves a stable loving home where she can continue to thrive and be the dog she was always meant to be. She is one VERY special girl.

Meet Trista!

Trista is an adorable 2-month-old, 5-pound Lab mix with the cutest speckled nose you’ve ever seen! She’s the perfect combination of playful and cuddly—always up for a game of fetch in the backyard but just as happy curling up in your lap for snuggles.

This little sweetheart is great with people of all ages, including kids, and loves playing with other dogs. She’s full of puppy energy but also has a laid-back side, happily keeping herself busy when left alone. Trista enjoys all kinds of toys, especially tug-of-war and fetch, and she’s already learning commands—she knows how to sit!

Still too young to walk outside, Trista is puppy pad trained, and crate trained, and she’s off to a great start with her manners. She rarely barks, isn’t a resource guarder, and travels like a champ. She hasn’t been tested on a leash yet, but given her sweet and confident nature, she’s sure to catch on quickly.

With her playful spirit, love for cuddles, and easygoing personality, Trista will make a wonderful addition to any home. Could she be your new best friend? ??

Meet Dynamite! 🔥🐾

This little fluff ball is Dynamite, a 9-year-old, 9-pound Pomeranian who looks like a tiny fox or a living teddy bear. He’s the ultimate cuddle bug—his absolute favorite thing in the world is being held, snuggled, and doted on. If you’re looking for a velcro dog who will happily accompany you everywhere, Dynamite is your guy!

He’s great with people of all ages, including kids and the elderly, but he’d probably prefer a home without young children. Dynamite is crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night. He’s still working on house training, but with patience and consistency, he’ll get there! While he gets along with dogs his size, he’s not a fan of bigger dogs and will sometimes let them know.

Dynamite loves treats, enjoys being pet (he practically melts into you), and travels like a pro—he’d be happy to be your tiny co-pilot wherever you go. He’s a bit of a couch potato but has a playful side, too! He doesn’t bark excessively, but he’ll let you know if he has something to say.

If pipsqueaks are your thing, then check out Shadow Puppet, or Shadow for short, an adorable 3-month old, 7-pound Chihuahua/Terrier mix who gets along well with humans, including kids, as well as other respectful dogs. If Shadow weren’t an only child and he could choose a fur sibling to live with, it would probably be an older, larger dog to help guide him along and show him the ropes, just like what you’d expect a big bro to do!

Shadow is still too young for outdoor walks, but he’s already pad trained and seemingly very smart. Highly treat motivated and very attentive, it’ll be both fun and rewarding to train this tiny tot. Shadow is just now learning how to share his food and space, and making great strides in both areas. Initially somewhat timid, this trusting ‘lil peanut has come a long way and definitely wants to be a good boy and do right!

A typical puppy, Shadow adores toys of all shapes and sizes and is extremely playful and spirited. When he’s not busy horsing around, Shadow is a total cuddle bug, looking for pets, massages, belly rubs, and caresses. As active as Shadow is, he does enjoy napping throughout the day, and when he falls asleep, he sleeps like a rock! Peace out, people!
