SVKC meets in Harrisonburg, Virginia, in the center of the lovely Shenandoah Valley. We're a small, hardworking club and pride ourselves on being open and welcoming to members new to the area or new to dogs. Like most kennel clubs, Shenandoah Valley's membership is a cross-section of the

community. We come from the professional fields, education, the pet care industries, farming, and business. We're retirees, students, housewives, and business people, and our experience in the dog world ranges from breeders and judges with decades to draw on, to people who just obtained their first dogs. Our interests run from agility to obedience and rally to conformation. Some of us breed, some train and compete in various dog sports, and some of us just enjoy our dogs as pets and companions.The common thread weaving through the entire membership is our love of dogs and our belief that pets are as good for people as people are for pets! We have annual conformation dog shows, obedience and rally competitions, agility trials, dock diving and Fast CAT. We have also sponsored Responsible Dog Ownership Day events. SVKC is always open to new ideas and people who want to help implement them! While we do not regularly offer training classes nor have our own facility, we can sometimes help get you connected with clubs or individual trainers in the area.

Lodging tip for our Oct. 5-6 Reva, VA trial!

Heads up for those thinking about entering the SVKC agility trial in Reva Oct 5-6. The Microtel and Days Inn have great rates now. Mention you are at the agility trial, and they will waive the pet fee. There are a couple of other big events in the area that weekend so make your reservations NOW. The trial opens 7/31/24.

absolutely honored to be a member of a club full of such a fabulous people.

Many thanks to all our competitors and volunteers Gretchen Mason, Judge Geoff Neider , and horizons edge sports complex for providing us with four great days of competition.

thank you so much to my club members for picking up all the slack, having my back and even finding time to buy me beautiful flowers, and a beautiful card. Thank you all. And Godspeed to my mother, who enjoyed meeting all of you and being part of this club.

SVKC 7/18/2024 - 7/21/2024 - Friday, Saturday and Sunday are full with a long WL on Friday and short WLs on Saturday and Sunday. I will not be adding more online entries for these days at this time so you will need to mail your entries. Thursday has runs available.
