Well.... how is everyone doing now we seem to be approaching the end of that awful winter!? This evening I popped a few willow whips/branches into the ground along the open fence line, willow just loves water and so if it helps.... even a tiny bit that can only be a good thing. Now is the time to plant it, after leaf fall but before leaf bud.
Did you know Willow bark is one of the oldest medicines on earth. For horses, it is a natural alternative to painkillers and anti-rheumatic drugs. Horses tolerate willow bark quite well and it can be used to support the musculoskeletal system in horses with painful diseases. They will seek it out themselves if at all possible. Fingers crossed these take... they are the easiest thing to propagate, chop off and stick it straight into the moist earth and let's be honest... nowhere is dry right now is it ;)
