Baby fish was dropped off yesterday afternoon at Texas Equine Hospital for his surgery. Thankful to the amazing team here and know he’s in the absolute best of hands. 🧡

Nemo has a girlfriend! Livia Schuller’s Sunny and him shared a moment last night🥰
These two look so similar in person it’s nuts. I always joke with Livia that I I wanted a mini Sunny… and well, I definitely got the looks! 😝

Learning to accept contact and drop his head 🥰 slowly getting the concept and I’m loving it! Excited to piece some liberty tricks together this month now that we’ve both got to know one another more.

Please don’t mind my eq, it’s not the best 😅 just pay attention to the pretty chestnut!!!

ITS OFFICIAL!! Nemo and I GOT ACCEPTED!!! We are officially going to Kentucky in October!!

The week we have all been waiting for!
This Thursday we find out if I’ve been accepted to compete at the RRP this October ☺️ very nerve wracking!
This last month we’ve been dealing with Nemo pulling his left front constantly and a lot of tight muscles in the back due to still correcting his angles from the track.
We’ve set him up on a nice weekly magnawave sessions and added some more magnesium to his diet and wow, the difference has been night and day!

We’re headed in the right direction hopefully now and it can only go up from here 🥰

First photo is of him jumping, second photo is of me learning how to reset a shoe (thanks to my amazing farrier being oh so patient with Nemo and his shoe pulling), and third is of him relaxing during his session with the Magnawave.

Cause it’s been so yucky outside and we lost a shoe from it, we’ve been working on some tricks to pass the time 🥰
Working on this and some other liberty tricks in the round pen. (Yielding the hind quarters left/right, flexing, stopping when I stop, backing when walking towards them, etc)

Application sent in today for the RRP! We will get notified on February 15th if we were accepted to participate in this years show 🥰 keep your fingers crossed for us!

On a side note, how is everyone handling the freezing weather? All the horses at the ranch are in stalls (pasture boarded horses too!) with extra hay and multiple checks to make sure everyone is a-ok 🥰

Nice sunny day at the ranch today! Everyone was enjoying it and soaking it up as much as possible. 🥰
The last few weeks we have been working on picking up the right lead more consistently and just building more muscle.
He’s started to walk up to you if you call out to him in the pasture and it definitely pulls at the heart strings🥹

Happiest of “birthdays” to all the Thoroughbreds today!!! Nemo is officially 5 years old to the jockey club. His real birthday is February 16, 2019 🥰

Nemo did his first cavaletti this weekend 🤩

I can not rave more about how good this red head is. We won't be doing this often but we just wanted to see how he would handle something different.
Nemo has an eventful week ahead of him. Wednesday we will be traveling to Camille's Mustangs to see our favorite farrier and to ride with Cam and her Fort Worth Mustang show horse Lenai. We will also be meeting Bacon Bit and Eloise who are also competing in their very first Mustang show 🤩🤩
cannot wait to see how this boy blossoms in a month!

When you like to pull your bell boots off left and right in the pasture.. you get ugly orange ones and double booted 😂
I forgot how the baby stage is with thoroughbreds. But man do I love them ❤️

Nemo has been doing so great the last few days coming back into work getting ready for the RRP! I have never met such a chill and relaxed 4 year old TB like him before. He’s been very willing and gung ho with everything I’ve so far showed him.

His connections on the track as well as who started him as a baby did a phenomenal job ❤️

First ride on Nemo in the books! This boy was SO well behaved and just a good natured dude. He’s going to be a fun one to figure out what he truly will excel at 🥰
Cannot wait till we can actually start training for the RRP.❤️
Nemo this past month has been enjoying being turned out on acres and acres of grass in a herd just enjoying being a horse . Earlier this week we also weighed him and he is at 1150lbs. He has gained so much weight since he’s been at the farm!

We will be updating our rides/training more regularly when we start doing more. Big man will be enjoying the pampered pasture life until then🥰

Nemo had a busy day yesterday! Our farrier, Brice Woolard, came out bright and early to reset his back shoes. Then he went to see our favorite equine dentist, Jenna, with D Bar D Equine Dentistry. He was an absolute rockstar and did so well!
Tomorrow we move him from Camille's Mustangs to Guzman's 2 N's Ranch!
