Gettysburg, PA

Jackson and Lola have posed in front of this door a few times through the years. You can see the bullet hole above Jackson. Jennie Wade or Ginnie Wade, was a resident of Gettysburg during the Battle of Gettysburg. At the age of 20, she was the only direct civilian casualty of the battle, when she was killed by a stray bullet on July 3, 1863.

Jackson has been going to Gettysburg since he was around 1 year old - the old boy is now nearing 16 and it still remains a favorite spot ☺️ (albeit a bit slower these days).

Happy Soon-to-Be Summer ☀️

Jackson says hi — we know it’s been a while but he’s just livin’ the good life 😌 He will be 16 in October and he’s got a lot of s***k left in him but his hearing and his vision isn’t the best these days 😩 He still enjoys lounging by the pool (and in it) and going for his daily walks and barking at me for food. I’ll try to get better at updating his Instagram— miss all of our friends!

Happy December! 🎅🏼

Jackson is popping in to say hello 👋🏻 to his Instagram followers! The year has flown by and I can’t believe it’s already Christmas time. Jackson celebrated his 15th birthday in October 🥳 totally forgot to post his bday pictures on here. We hope everyone is doing well. 😊

Popping in to say hello! Jackson is doing well and I’ve missed all of our Instagram friends. We have been enjoying our summer and mostly living off social media which honestly has been a nice little break. ❤️ so far this summer Jackson has got to visit Harpers Ferry, go camping in a treehouse, Fourth of July was spent in Gettysburg and he’s always playing with his sister Lola in the swimming pool 💦 Hope all of you are doing great! ❤️

Maryland weather be throwing out temperatures like powerball numbers: 78, 45, 34, 50, 27

Spring one day, winter the next! 😂 I have to say at this point I’m looking forward to Spring. Thursday was a gorgeous day and at this point I am over winter (even though MD has had a pretty mild one).

Sibling love 💕

Lola decided it was her time to shine since Jackson’s been the one at the vet more lately 😂 Poor girl had a lump checked out and they tested it and it was a mast cell tumor. We removed it and she’s been recovering well this week! She is such a sweet girl; I hated putting her through it but she has forgiven me (her first night after surgery she wouldn’t even LOOK my direction she was so mad at me lol). They sent to pathologist and will find out hopefully soon what grade of tumor it was and just hoping nothing else needs to be done now that it’s removed!

Hopefully we will be more active on Instagram again soon. We’ve been fairly boring and uneventful lately but still like keeping up with all of our friends!❤️

Happy Tuesday! 🙌🏼

I’ve been mostly absent from Jackson’s Instagram and I apologize. I’ve been trying to keep up with our friends on here — thanks for sticking with us!

We’ve been busy busy with our move - the dogs love the new location and there are so many nice walking trails. Hopefully we will be posting more and doing more exciting activities very soon. Ready for Spring! 🌸

Throwback Thursday!

We’ve had very Spring-like weather and I’m not mad about it! I feel like it’s such a tease though and then we’re going to get blasted with super cold weather again 😂

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐲 𝐖𝐓𝐅?! 🤔

That’s a wrap, 2022 — a year filled with a lot of life lessons, grief, and growth.

Some health stuff held us back from traveling as much this year as we wanted to. In July, Jackson started with a cough that we couldn’t get under control. He was otherwise healthy and active. After ruling out heart, collapsed trachea, airway collapse, and many vet trips, seeing the specialist, etc he was diagnosed with basically “old dog bronchitis”. I never think of him as old because he genuinely acts like a puppy 90% of the time so it threw me for a loop but he’s doing much better now — he has an inhaler now that we use twice a day (I honestly didn’t even know this was a thing in dogs lol) and then we discovered he had excessive protein in his urine and got diagnosed with PLN / proteinuria. With proper meds and diet change, his UPC numbers keep going down (in the right direction!) and he’s been doing amazing. 🥳

Then I helped care for my stepmom in her final dying days from cancer and she passed on November 9th (her 53rd birthday) so going through all the major holidays right after has been tough to say the least, and the whole experience was very traumatizing for her family left behind but SO grateful we all have each other and have become even closer.

𝗢𝗻𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯…. I will be moving into my own condo with the dogs at a really great location (close to my dad which will be nice after he just lost his wife) so I am looking forward to making new memories there and starting the New Year off on a good note!

Visiting Santa’s Workshop 🎅🏼

We have some really cute garden centers near our house and they always have the cutest holiday set ups.

The fact that it’s already December 6 😯 Christmas is creeping up SO fast and I don’t feel prepared 😂

Visited one of my favorite small towns — Gettysburg, PA for their Christmas festival weekend. It was so cute and gave total Hallmark movie vibes 🎅🏼

It’s also one of the more dog friendly cities to visit. Almost all of the shops are welcoming to well-behaved pups. Will be adding our Gettysburg stories to our highlight on our Instagram page if you want to view more!

Happy Thanksgiving 🤎🧡

Jackson and Lola want to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving! I can’t believe it’s been a month since we posted but it’s been a nice break. Thank you all for the well wishes and messages 🧡 For those who maybe missed, my stepmom passed away after her battle with cancer. It’s been a rough time but we are trying to remain positive throughout the holidays for her because it’s what she wanted!
