This is not a normal plea for fosters. I am on my knees groveling the best way I know how. We are in desperate need of foster homes!

We will be getting these two today, Sunday, from Eastern Arizona. The owners are no longer able to care for them. They have been outside in the elements and haven’t been groomed in months. They are very thin and in need of food and love. They will be taken to Heidi’s Village to be checked by a veterinarian and to get a mercy grooming. Then they will need fosters to show them love, caring and understanding until they’re adoptable. Yesterday we picked up a standard poodle that had an ear injury (home grooming accident gone bad). The owner wrapped her head in a diaper and duct tape making the issue worse. When our volunteer picked up the dog and removed the diaper, the head was wet and smelled horrible. An immediate vet visit was needed prior to taking her to a foster. We have been asked to bring in a dog that is temporarily homeless. The family moved from out of state, finding themselves unexpectedly without a home and living with friends in a 5th wheel. They should have their housing situation fixed by the beginning of April. For now, their standard poodle is living in the car as the trailer has a newborn and 2 cats. Tomorrow, Monday, two more from the shelter, one of which is an 85 lbs. doodle. There are two more waiting.

We are looking for fosters in the Phoenix area.

Update and additional Donation Request

We’re reaching out with an update on our girls, Nina and Nancy. Both girls are still in intensive care at Phoenix Veterinary Referral and Emergency. It’s a slow process since they were so cruelly abandoned when they were already ill, and unfortunately, the treatment began rather late. However, they are progressing… it’s baby steps at this point, but they are definitely beginning to turn for the better.

Currently the bill for their treatment is about $13,000. We appreciate so many of you who have helped …yet again we are reaching out and asking for assistance.

We'll continue their treatment but as you know the regular medical costs we incur for our other dogs is still extremely expensive and we currently have several requiring orthopedic surgeries, etc.

We appreciate your help and care and anything you can do to help Nina and Nancy towards the healthy and happy future that they deserve.

You can go to our website arizonapoodlerescue.org and donate or contact me to assist you with alternate methods to donate such as Zelle.

Or, mail a check payable to APR to our treasurer, address is on our website.

All donations are tax deductible. Our federal tax ID is 87-0799983.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

Donations needed 🥺

To all our wonderful adopters, donors and friends of the rescue:
This is a different kind of plea.

I usually come to you asking for help with fostering for beautiful, healthy, joyous Poodles. This time is different.

Many of you who are active on social media may have seen the poodles that were abandoned in Laveen. We were contacted about these poodles and we took two into our rescue. A local woman took the other. They were filthy, but friendly and sweet. We had them groomed but within hours they became extremely ill.

We took them to Phoenix Veterinary Emergency and Referral immediately. They were both confirmed to be Parvovirus positive. We reached out to the woman who had kept the third one and asked her to surrender that Poodle to us so she could be treated. Unfortunately, the beautiful male standard pup died within hours. The other two girls are currently hospitalized. They are on feeding tubes, IV fluids as well as multiple antibiotics. They have been administered the brand new monoclonal antibody shot which hopefully will be a cure. We have seen this shot work amazingly well in the recent past, however, the treatment for the two remaining girls is extremely expensive. We would only come to you with a plea for donations if it was a desperate situation.

These beautiful Young Standard Poodles are still Puppies approximately 13-15 weeks.

We need your help. The vet bills will amount to multiple thousands of dollars but any contribution you are able to give will be appreciated.
