Exciting news!! Our very own, Gunther, made it to the Top 16 in Be The Solution’s annual Tally Top Pet contest!

Pip Pip is a 1-year-old cat who absolutely loves attention! You can often find her curled up near the front door, eagerly awaiting your arrival, or lounging up in the catwalk, keeping an eye on everything. Help Peddi!

She is the sauciest, feistiest, most feral tortie we’ve ever had in quarantine. She suffered from severe Pillow Foot, which is an autoimmune disorder that causes inflammation in the paw pads. After six long weeks of antibiotics (and some creative medication techniques to avoid getting shredded), this sassy girl healed and has returned to her colony. Her caregiver keeps a close watch over her, and if her condition ever worsens again, we’ll be ready to help.

Anyone involved in rescue can attest that medical needs can get really expensive really quick. For feral cats like Peddi, resources are even more limited. We couldn’t turn a blind eye to her needs, and now we are getting ready to pay off her medical bills!

Cat rescue isn’t just about the cats—it’s about the people who make it all possible.

Every adoption, every life saved, and every second chance starts with a person willing to step up. From transporters to trappers, fosters to colony caregivers, these individuals pour their time, energy, and hearts into making a difference. “Behind the Whiskers” is a series dedicated to showcasing the incredible people who keep FALC running and why their work matters.

Our first feature introduces a volunteer whose journey started with one stray cat in her backyard and led to a passion for TNR and transport. Now, she gives “freedom rides” to help us find cats homes across the country!

Rescue starts in your own backyard, and you can be part of it too. We are always looking for new volunteers to help with a variety of tasks. Whether you have a few hours a month to transport kitties, a desire to TNR your backyard cats, or can dedicate or a little extra space to foster, there’s a way to make a difference. Join our community of rescuers today!

Part of our Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) work includes caring for the colonies we’ve helped fix, and that means keeping bellies full! We provide food to numerous community cat colonies, and we need your help to keep them fed.

We accept ANY brand of dry or wet cat food—even if it’s been opened! So if your cat turned their nose up at that new food you tried, don’t let it go to waste, donate it to us!

He came into Feline Advocates of Leon County’s care after his owner passed away. He’s a big boy with a lot of love to give! He is declawed so he must be an indoor-only kitty. Since we are temporarily closed, we’re here to deliver your daily dose of kitty therapy virtually, featuring bottle baby kittens. So say hello to Harper (tabby), Wentworth (Siamese), and Peridot (black). They’re about 3 weeks old and irresistible. We’ll be streaming them from 8-9:30 so grab a snack, kick back, and relax with these cuties . Keep in mind, any thing is possible with bottle babies. They are on a feeding schedule and but their “bathroom” schedule, while usually handled by the foster, can be unpredictable. We will of course be monitoring them throughout and beyond, but BE PREPARED. We want you to see that while we work hard daily at the café to keep it going, it the extra funds from Fat Cat that helps us keep saving lives behind the scenes and without those funds it can be tricky. Regardless, we will work it out, because we love what we do. However, if you are able, please consider making a donation so that we may continue saving lives! Kitten season has only just begun, and these three are the first of many orphaned kittens that will come into our care in the coming weeks. Paypal will allow us to receive the funds immediately but the facebook donation will also send the money in about 45 days. [email protected]. Wanting to deliver a unique experience to the Tallahassee community, Fat Cat Cafe Tallahassee officially opened its doors in August of 2017.

From the start, our mission has always been, and always will be, about giving cats a second chance at life. By partnering with local rescue organizations, we’re able to save kitties from all walks of life and give them a fresh start at Fat Cat Cafe. These cats are then housed at our cafe, all patiently waiting to meet you and find their new furever home.

Our cafe side of things offer an eclectic boutique (full of gifts for cat lovers) and delicious coffee and teas, all available for your enjoyment while you cozy up to our residents.
