We can’t work ALL the time - Pico came back for tracking school and his grandma Chigger is showing him how the “no ball in the house” rules work
It’s not training the dog that’s hard. It’s getting the cat to take them out to potty that is such a challenge 😹
It doesn’t always look as impressive to see videos of a dog acting normal around cattle and coming when called when you don’t know what brought them here...
Sonic is a very high drive Jack Russell that has a history of bolting, and most recently, of chasing cattle during a hunt. She is the daughter of a dog I bred that is also a runner and very high drive and a sire that has a reputation for the same. She came to me 3 weeks ago to work on self control and focus. I am happy with the results and hope that her humans can enjoy her in the field and that she will have a long and successful hunting career as an earthdog.
These types of behaviors are some of the many things I can address for working dogs and active pets.
One of our pups from a few years ago came back for some fine tuning while his people are traveling. We have been working on commands to keep him out of harms way in a tracking scenario (he is being trained to find his owner who has early stage Alzheimer's), which is the reason for the unusual command and the quick drop. And then the recall from that command passing light distractions. As usual, the cat is happily providing a distraction 😹
Poor Red can't catch a break! Just minding his own business, trying to get ready to go home, and we bring in the secret torture device 😹 He's such a good boy!
Luke is learning to help with the groceries 😂
On the left we have a DAD. And on the right we have an alert dog that alerts to diabetic alert dogs . Rockstar's mom knows if her daughter is working, she better partake!
Luke doing target training with the Treat and Train Machine. I love this thing!
There are advantages to having a police car at your house - the dogs can easily get desensitized to this lol!
This time she caught me off guard! I forgot I had it in my pocket and was looking at something in Walgreens on the bottom shelf. Good day
We had a nice alert in Sam's today. It was hard to get the whole thing on video by myself so we started in the middle!
Most people won't even go up and down these scary stairs! Rockstar taught herself how last week and now I'm always looking for her!
Bella practicing scent work at the Houston AKC show. She was excellent today!
Risky doing his job today. He really seems to enjoy his job. Possibly a little too much!
This face! Poor Mojo. This cat has no mercy. I bet if I got him a cat to play with he would be offended. I really think he thinks he is a very agile dog.
Puppies in the play yard. Getting used to new textures and sounds and all kinds of weird stuff.
Puppies in the play yard - or as the neighbor calls it, Doggy Disneyland lol. 5 weeks old yesterday.
