Can someone give Coquito the retirement home she deserves in her golden years? This senior lady has been through a lot of stressful transitions lately, including an unexpected move from Puerto Rico to Massachusetts and our cold, fast paced Northeast vibes just aren’t where it’s at for this Caribbean cocktail kitty. She is currently in a foster home where she prefers to hide in her cozy spot under the bed, but will happily accept love when her foster mom gets down on her level. A quiet, adult only home with a cat friend who can show her that humans are pretty great would be ideal. Coquito will be a bit of a project but we know whoever takes a chance on this older gal will be rewarded with lots of sweetness. Email her foster mom Corinne at [email protected] to chat more about her.

With changes in pet food regulations, new formulations, repeated recalls and company buyouts shaping the pet food landscape, it’s more important than ever to know how to choose the right brand for your dog.

This Monday, we're kicking off our highly anticipated 2025 Pet Food Review to give you the tools you need to pick the best pet food for 2025, no matter your budget. Whether you're feeding a high-end kibble or a more affordable option, we'll help you navigate the ever-evolving market and ensure your pup gets the nutrition they deserve.

Veterinary nutritionists, pet food formulators and industry experts are joining us to take an in-depth look at top-selling dry dog foods. We’re covering everything from budget-friendly brands to premium and veterinary prescription options. But here's the catch: Top-selling doesn’t always mean top-quality.
We’re reviewing over a dozen dry and air-dried dog foods, including brands like Farmina, Purina Pro Plan, Open Farm, Blue Buffalo, Acana, and more. We'll also cover:

⭐️ How to evaluate kibble and identify top-quality ingredients
🐶 Are feeding recommendations making your dog overweight?
🔎 Do companies' claims hold up under scrutiny?
🏭 The impact of formulation changes, regulatory shifts, and company acquisitions on pet food quality

Plus, stay tuned because in the coming months, we’ll be reviewing gently cooked, freeze-dried, and fresh pet foods as well. There’s a lot to cover, but we’re here to help you make informed decisions that fit both your dog’s needs and your budget.

We hope you'll join Monday, Jan.20th at 11:30am EST live on the Inside Scoop! (edit to new time)

Comment SCOOPERS and we'll message you the link to join Inside Scoop, a Planet Paws monthly subscription group. All live podcasts are recorded and available to watch later. You’ll also be able to watch over 5 years of content including: past live podcasts, interviews, ebook downloads, and more!

How cute is Mama Mia? Mia is 5 years old and weighs only 6 pounds. She came in with her friend Max but they are not a bonded pair. She is good with other dogs but has not been around cats that we know of. She is now fully vetted and ready to travel north. Please share for adoption, smalldogrescuene.org

CAN YOU HELP? Wild Care VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Volunteers are so important to everything we do to help wildlife. It gets busy here, and we couldn’t do it all without our volunteers! In the Summer months we can have up to 200 patients being cared for in our clinic at once, as you can imagine its a huge need to keep things clean, and running smoothly.

CLINIC VOLUNTEERS
Clinic Volunteers help us with the vast amount of cleaning needed as every patient needs a clean habitat, clean food dishes, enrichment items and linens, and medical equipment needs cleaning and disinfecting every single day. A clean place for animals to recover is an important part of helping them return to wild.

EVENT VOLUNTEERS
We are always looking for friendly faces to volunteer with us at local events. If you would like to help Wild Care, and enjoy connecting with people of all ages in the community, talking about wildlife and Wild Care at fun events around Cape Cod, we’d love to hear from you!

Please email [email protected] for more information on these and other volunteer opportunities.
We provide training! We, and our patients thank you!
