Thank you everyone who supported us on Giving Tuesday. We received $2770 in Paypal donations and $1455 through our Facebook fundraiser, for a total of $4225. With our Secret Santa match that brings the total to $8225!!! We couldn't keep doing this without you. Thank you so much!

Update: We reached our $4000 goal in order to get the full benefit of the matching!!! With $1455 in Facebook donations and $2670 in PayPal donations, we made it! Of course we still welcome more donations, but we're just so happy we met the matching goal. Thank you everyone!

Today is Giving Tuesday! Once again we have a generous donor who will match all donations we receive today, up to $4,000! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, by far. It goes a long way towards paying our vet bills for the year. We aren't a high volume rescue, but we do get some expensive medical cases and have never had to turn a dog away because it would be too expensive.

Giving Tuesday is coming up on Tuesday, December 3. We are so lucky to have a secret Santa who will match donations on Giving Tuesday, up to $4,000!!! Any amount helps! But wait until Tuesday so we get the benefit of the matching. :D
Veterinary expenses are by far our biggest expense - $25,000 in 2023 and $15,000 so far in 2024. We couldn't do it without donations. We are a 501c3 so all donations are tax deductible.

We're hoping to pull this 13 year old dog out of animal control as a hospice case. He's been there 3 weeks. We were told he's very friendly and when introduced to dogs and cats did nothing other than sniff gently. He has heartworms and has not been neutered. He's very slow moving. I'm not sure if we'd treat his heartworms at this stage of his life. We'd discuss with our vet.

We may or may not have a foster home for him - still working on it. It would be great if someone could go to Newnan to get him from animal control and it would be wonderful if someone would give us a definite yes on fostering. If considering fostering, he'll need to be taken to our vet in Snellville.

The shelter is open until 4:00 today and closed Sunday & Monday.

Mavis enjoying a walk in the neighborhood. She finishes her heartworm treatment on November 22nd, but still needs to be spayed. After that is done, she will be available for adoption. It's not easy to find someone who will adopt an older dog, but she is so easy and so cute. Maybe she'll get lucky and someone will want to adopt her.

Just added Grizz to the web site. He's not a Doberman, but he was an emergency case. He needed somewhere to go on Saturday and the person who found him had no good options for him.

He's adorable, calm (for a puppy) and well behaved. Rottweiler experience preferred.

We are so excited that Hela was adopted today. We've had her over a year! She's a great dog, but her home options were somewhat limited since she could jump a 4' fence and we were told she wasn't good with female dogs. She's going to be the only dog in her home, and her new dad works from home so she'll get lots of attention. He has adopted from us in the past - Gino in 2022 and Imogene in 2016. We're so happy for Hela!

We've had almost no interest in Hattie and we can't understand why. She is very affectionate, cuddly and she's a pocket size Doberman, full grown but only 45 lbs. She is very energetic and needs exercise. She would be a great playmate for a dog her size or larger. We took Hattie for a barn hunt private lesson and she did well and enjoyed it. We think she'd make a great sports dog.
