We've had almost no interest in Hattie and we can't understand why. She is very affectionate, cuddly and she's a pocket size Doberman, full grown but only 45 lbs. She is very energetic and needs exercise. She would be a great playmate for a dog her size or larger. We took Hattie for a barn hunt private lesson and she did well and enjoyed it. We think she'd make a great sports dog.
Luigi has arrived in Atlanta! He'll be on his way to the vet shortly.
This is the next little boy we'll be welcoming to Doberman Rescue of Atlanta. We're calling him Luigi. We're getting him next week. He's 4 - 5 months old. He was found in West Georgia, wandering with a rotting splint on a rear leg. His leg had apparently been broken and splinted, but no one changed or removed the splint as he grew. As a result he developed tetanus, which he's being treated for now. The bones in his leg did heal so we're hoping it won't need amputation. He will start physical therapy shortly after we get him.
Timothy was adopted on July 19 and is doing great in his new home. He loves his new parents and has a cat to play with!
Many dogs can be trained (with lots of treats) to stay calm during nail clipping or dremmeling. But our foster, Chica, takes it one step further - she files her own nails! Here she is using her special “nail file” (a clipboard with sandpaper) to keep her nails nice and short for good joint health and safety. Chica loves this game and is looking for a forever family to share it with. You can check out her adoption info on her webpage: https://www.dobermanrescueatlanta.com/gallery/cheeka/
This is Cheeka, a cute Rottie rescue with a fun personality. She loves playing! We’ve had poor Cheeka for over a year and had almost no interest at all in her. We think people might be put off because she has some gray around her muzzle but she has plenty of energy for playtime! She also loves hanging out in the house and has excellent manners. We think she’s great and hope you do, too. You can find out more about her on our website: https://www.dobermanrescueatlanta.com/gallery/cheeka/
