Lebeck is a Canine Companions for Independence CoC or "Change of Career" dog. About Canine Companions for Independence:

Currently, Lebeck is still in "training" and hopefully will be a registered therapy dog in the near future. This life changing result begins with the our breeding program. Using advanced technology, the breeding program meticulously selects and pairs dogs for breeding
Volunteer breeder caretakers provide homes for the breeder dogs and whelp the puppies, returning the puppies to our national headquarters in Santa Rosa, California at age eight weeks. Raising Puppies; Changing Lives
From there the puppies are placed with volunteer puppy raisers across the nation for socialization and obedience training. Between the ages of fifteen and eighteen months the puppies return to one of five Canine Companions Regional Training Centers across the country for six months of training. We train four types of assistance dogs to master over 40 specialized commands: Service Dogs, Skilled Companions, Hearing Dogs and Facility Dogs. After completing training, the dogs are teamed with a graduate during an intensive two week training period, Team Training.

Did you know Canine Companions trains 4 types of Assistance Dogs? I could be a Facility Dog.
Facility dogs are expertly trained dogs who partner with a facilitator working in a health care, visitation or education setting.
Canine Companions facility dogs are trustworthy in professional environments and can perform over 40 commands designed to motivate and inspire clients with special needs.
Facilitators are working professionals responsible for handling and caring for the facility dog. Additionally, facilitators are committed to long-term employment where they directly serve clients with special needs a minimum of twenty hours per week.
One of the most valued qualities of the facility dog is the unconditional love and attention it gives to the clients and patients with whom it interacts.
In an educational setting, a facility dog helps engage students in schools and special education classes.
In a health care environment, activities such as grooming, feeding and playing fetch with a facility dog can aid patients in medical rehabilitation and psychiatric programs.
A well-mannered and highly trained facility dog encourages feelings of calm and security for clients in a visitation setting such as a courtroom.

Well, I have some news to share with you all. College just wasn't for me. My puppy raiser got the call today that he will be picking me up tomorrow to come home. I was too excited and distracted to sit through all of those classes and stuff. I'd rather play. It's not the end, just a new beginning. I'm looking forward to meeting Kalia - I'm sure we will be best pals in no time. Don't worry, my puppy raiser will keep this page up (with some changes) so you can continue to follow my journey, and look at pictures of how handsome I am. :)

I'm so proud of my old pal! He learned a lot from me :)
In his first interview with Suffolk County investigators, the little boy was too traumatized to talk much. The fourth-grader was a victim of physical and sexual abuse at the hands of a family member, but he could not bring himself to tell his story.

CCI Puppy Lebeck is one of my very handsome brothers, and I would love it if you would like his page! Won't it be fun to follow the adorable pups from the 'L' litter? We are spread out across the US, so I think it's pretty cool to see all the different things we are each doing in all these different places. It's pawsitively pawsome! ;-)
