Chester got his groom on today. While the shaves are the bread and butter grooming in the area, it is so nice to have a nice pet breed groom. Of course in retrospect I should have done more with his head. Oh well, he’ll be back in few weeks. Always a “work in progress”. 😊

Ok how not to treat a groomer:

1. Do NOT return for your dog before the time you were told. Even “just five minutes”. You’d be amazed how much can be done in those five minutes either on the dog or just clean up and getting them ready to go. The question is always “Is he done yet” and my answer is always “He IS now”

2. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT show up at the door without an appointment, anytime of day looking for a groomer. And when you do in the morning and are told to call after ten o’clock and you don’t. 😠 I have a phone. There is an answering machine. USE THEM!!

Barking dogs, doorbells and pounding on the door is not how I like to wake up.

Mr Chewy learned today that a spa day is interesting. He checked everything out and gave his approval. Now he is ready for a a fresh start and warm weather. Looking forward to seeing this little dude again. 💕

UPDATE: worked last week and survived. 😊 Everyone that was cancelled has been rescheduled, next week will be a real test. Have appointment with ortho Doctor in couple weeks as it isn’t perfect but do have full movement now. Yea!!!! No more T-Rex arm. 😂

Well, a fall in my garage Sunday night has taken out my left shoulder.

So, until I can reach, pull, and lift with my left hand there will be cancellations of grooming appointments. My left hand is what holds and controls the dogs on my table. Left arm is also very important when lifting dogs in and out of the tub.

I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and that your pups will get a little extra hairy and I feel your pain (I really feel the pain)…. looking at my own dirty overgrown Standrd Poodle.

I will do my best to keep everyone up to date.

As a person who loves and has owned coated breeds, Cocker Spaniels/Standard Poodles, I know that life can get in the way of keeping your dogs coat in pristine shape. I know, I know there are those that can do it. But trust me, I ain’t one of them. 😆 But you shave the coat, promise you will do better and yes it does grow back.

As a groomer I see it often. Life happens. Doesn’t mean anyone is a negligent pet owner. Just means that life got busy, weather got sucky, anything and everything got in the way. So, you fix it and start over.

Today I got to give a fresh start to a sweet boy. No shame here. 💩 happens. Here he is: Before, During and After.

And don’t be shocked or ask why. Cat bites are dangerous and always require a trip to the ER. If you own a cat and have it groomed regularly cherish your groomer. Personally as a groomer who owns a cat, I won’t, can’t, groom him. He would kill me. 😊 😆

Question for the people of the page…. Would you be willing to pay $15-20 more for your pet’s groom so the groomer would take time to walk your dog around the shop, read them a story, set up snuffle mats/puzzles for them to explore, do scent work or give them a massage in the tub or on the table? This would also add 15-20 minutes to the time Any thoughts? Oh yea, this is called “Enrichment Grooming”

The last week before Christmas is almost here and appointment spots are all full.

I thank all my wonderful clients for trusting me with their pets and making 2023 a great year.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in 2024.

If I won’t be seeing you and your pet before the holidays, will be looking forward to seeing y’all in the coming year.
