Help Keep Pets in Homes
As pet parents, the idea of having to give up a pet is unimaginable. Having to give up your pet - a source of love and comfort and companionship - when you're going through a difficult time is shattering.
Across the country - and across our area - the numbers of abandoned and surrendered pets are increasing as people struggle to feed their families and keep a roof over their heads.
Local food pantries have seen many more people coming through their doors needing help. Most of these pantries also welcome donations of pet food. This pet food can be the key to keeping pets in homes with the people that love (and need) them.
Somerset Regional Animal Shelter is asking our generous community to help keep pets in homes by donating to our Pet Food Drive this Saturday, Nov 15.
We welcome unopen, unexpired, undamaged:
- bags of dry dog and cat food
- canned cat food
* we will also take unopened cat litter
FOSRAS volunteers will deliver all donations to local food pantries.
