Got Basil: While I prefer to grow in a hightunnel with.my hands in the dirt,, there are several crops that make more sense for us to grow indoors rather than out, based on our model. Primarily cut and grow back varieties that don't require high powered lighting or supplemented heat such as propane. In addition to, we've found that all of our plants do best when kept in a controlled environment for as long as possible, prior to transplanting out in the hightunnels. When every square foot counts, we continue to build upon a system that works best for us- one that generates the most consistency, quality and return on space.

Our Story

This is a family operation, run by kids - Elsie (9) and Jack (6).

We’re taking 10 years experience directing a Certified Organic vegetable farm and applying it to our home in South Minneapolis. We’ll continue providing vegetable plants to Minneapolis/St.Paul school gardens as well as other community organizations. We’ll provide produce to the community through farmers markets, restaurants, stores and caterers. Season extension techniques will allow us to have out of season produce - knowing there’s a huge void during those long Winter months in Minnesota.

In addition to the business side of the operation, we envision our farm/garden to be a place for kids to use for education as well as skill building.
