Lets do a phosphates and Nitrates discussion as they come up quite often. Over here at Bright Aquaculture we have to maintain nutrients consistently to ensure health, color, and growth is all up to par at all times. Overall for anyone wondering we aim for a 1 to 100 ratio of phosphates to nitrates. This would mean if phosphates are around .15 then we aim to keep that system around 15 nitrates. Of course every system will wonder a bit and thats okay! Stability is key but that was soke life changing info when we first started getting into testing heavily. Keeping this ratio of phosphates and nitrate levels tend to keep nuisance algeas at bay, and overall keep corals happier. You can get into real danger with algeas and corals suffering if either of these bottom out especially for too long. Remember stability is your friend but you want balance as well!! Any questions always feel free to reach out to me or my personal account. Brightwell has neonitro and neophos to raise these levels as needed. Also lots of other factors can raise these levels and lower them. It can be tough to dial in but overall these are the numbers and ratios we aim for varying slightly time to time. Feel free to discuss more in the comments and ask as many questions as needed. Shortly I'll be ramping up posting here and really trying to grow so any like and invites are very much appreciated. Have a wonderful Monday!
